“Quiet backstage!” Excited whispers cease. The curtain opens. The parting of the red velvet sea.

Nerves instigate the body’s response. Perspiration sits mockingly on the skin. Heart beating like a snare drum. Rapid beats.

Shake it out. This moment is what makes it all worth it. The long hours of learning, memorizing, perfecting. Running on “take 5!”’s for rest And passion for fuel. Then comes A metamorphosis.

The lights beam, bright and blinding. Energy moves in waves across the stage, Emerging from mouths and bodies. Nerves turn into adrenaline. A rush like no other!

Echoes of applause bounce off the walls of the theatre. Hands clapping as they collectively rise. Appreciating the work. The art. The inspiration.

A dramatic thank you ensues As cast members bound onstage, Grasping sweaty palms as bodies bend in gratitude. Faces sore from smiling so strongly, Souls are satisfied.

It’s a beautiful thing.
