Meet the artists Meander through artistic St. Mary’s and meet the artists who work with a variety of media – lino printing, stained glass, oils, watercolours, sculptures, canvas bags, jewellery and much more. Set sail on the sea Sheltered coves and gentle waters makes St. Mary’s the perfect spot to try water-based activities such as guided sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and coasteering. Hire a boat or board a tripper boat and explore the off islands, or take a sea safari tour and get your fix of wildlife and life on the sea. GETTING AROUND The entire island is approximately 3 miles by 2 miles, so nothing is very far away. Walking the entire coastline, punctuated with lovely cafés, is less than 10 miles in length. There are stunning walks through the middle of the island, taking you through nature reserves and woodland, fields of scented flowers and vineyards, and past road-side honesty stalls. ISLAND HOPPING St. Mary’s is the perfect base to explore the other islands. Regular boat services leave St. Mary’s Quay daily around 10am where you will be dropped at an off island quay to explore. Experience each island’s distinctive character and enjoy a pub lunch before heading back. The art of island hopping is very relaxed – just like Scillonians! West of St. Agnes is the low lying island of Annet, a bird sanctuary. It’s closed to the public year round, but boat trips do head there, so take TEÄN Teän is located just west of St. Martin’s. Climb to the top of the Great Hill (just 40 metres!) for stunning views. Look for evidence of Bronze Age occupation and an early Christian chapel. ST.
