Gig weekend is a massive logistical operation for us. We started transporting gigs to the islands in February, months before the racing actually begins. But we also transport passengers, luggage and record amounts of freight. It’s our busiest weekend of the year.

Iam delighted to welcome the World Pilot Gig Championships back to Scilly for the 32nd year. Spring is a magical time on the islands, isn’t it? The sights and sounds of the crews and their gigs between the islands is one that stays in the memory for a long time after the racing ends.

One of the many wonderful things about the event is that senior age groups are catered for as well as “elites”. This adds to the mix and increases the family type atmosphere. Come on Mum!
