interior de la industria de la moda y mi vida en Nueva York. Me ha empujado fuera de mi zona confortativa, me ha dado la plataforma para dedicarme a mi lado creativo y, lo mejor de todo, me ha rodeado de personas como usted. Durante los últimos meses, mi compañía en Audree Kate Studios a trabajando en algunos proyectos de estilismo realmente emocionantes, lanzamos nuestra comunidad Fashion Fundamentals y nuestro programa de tutoría digital (página 118), y hemos estado esperando ansiosamente la publicación de Summer Editar. Cuando entre en el séptimo año, no pude evitar en pensar cuánto ha cambiado en los últimos doce meses. Spain has been at the top of my travel list for as long as I can remember. I am Mexican and Spanish and have been dreaming of the day I would make it to Barcelona and experience more of my latin culture. And to be honest—it did not disappoint.

When I started thinking about creating a second Simply Audree Kate Edit, Spain was instantly calling my name. The colors, the culture and the photoshoot locations. Who could say no? We packed our bags in mid-March and headed to the coast of Peñiscola and Barcelona for a week. We first landed in Peñiscola for a couple days to create the swim lookbook and it was the perfect beginning to the trip. My photographer, Ashley and I would wake up early in the morning to be the first ones on the beach (not so fun fact—it was barely 50 degrees near the water!) and then spent the afternoon exploring the sleepy little beach town and the incredible castle on the cliff! Ashley discovered Peñiscola a few years ago while she studied abroad and it was a little hidden local treasure.

On day three we took a train to Barcelona and dove into a busy few days in the city. We explored a handful of Antoni Gaudí’s buildings such as Casa Vicens, Casa Milá, La Sagrada Familia, and our cover shoot location, Parc Güell. In-between photographing outfits and visiting tourist locations, we ate and drank our way through the city with plenty of tapas and sangria in the mix. I strongly suggest sharing a pan of paella at dinner, and enjoying a couple (or a few!) espressos at breakfast because they’re so much more affordable there!

On every trip I take, I find a local bookstore to find a book to add to my collection. My Spain trip was extremely special because I ended up flying home with three books, a printed poster and a few little souvenirs! My favorite item was a tan Barcelona coffee table book I found at a flea market. My trip to Spain was so much more than a work or content creation trip. I found a little piece of home, culture and an affinity for a new city. I feel so grateful I was able to create the Summer Edit for you in one of my favorite cities in the world, and I cannot wait to see where I take my passport next!

Fashion Fundamentals is an interactive online mentoring program for students looking to break into the fashion industry. Students will learn the tools necessary to build a competitive resume, make genuine and lasting industry connections, create a strong online presence and network, ace their interviews and successfully land their dream job or internship.Students will be able to interact with Audree directly in weekly video sessions, gain exclusive insight into the industry, receive a free copy of her ebook and join the growing Fashion Fundamentals community of other past and present students. Throughout the program Audree will be bringing in her colleagues and industry friends to interact with the students and share their experiences and advice. Students will receive opportunities for one-on-one coaching sessions, mock interviews, resume and cover letter critiques, and so much more!
