"I am a Visiting Consultant Psychiatrist to Jacobs Clinic, Sale; I am in the process of setting up an Adult Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Assessment and Diagnostic Services at the Clinic. I was a Consultant Psychiatrist working in Deaf Mental Healthcare for 37 years prior to this appointment.
I was born in India and have lived most of my adult working life in the UK, the relevance being that I have a level in experience of South Asian cultural issues and can speak Hindi.
I am Honorary Professor of Health and Society – University of Salford I am committed to academic and research endeavours in Deaf Mental Health care and Deafness, Autistic Spectrum Conditions in both deaf and hearing people. I have received a Pioneering Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award for my passion and commitment to Deaf Mental Health Care.
I have been in MedicoLegal Practice since 1989 I have provided an average of 60 to 70 reports per year. I endeavour to obtain feedback from all Instructing Solicitors and clients following the assessment and provision of the report. This feedback is crucial to my Appraisal and Revalidation process and needs to be assiduously completed for me to maintain my licence to practice I am a keen golfer, an after dinner speaker and I like to raise money for charity.
I have over 40 years experience in developing Deaf Mental Health Care and have provided numerous reports on Deaf and Hard of Hearing People.
I am a visiting Consultant Psychiatrist to Jacobs Clinic developing Adult Autistic Spectrum Assesment and Diagnostic service. I am an Honorary Professor Health and Society at the University of Salford. I provide expert psychiatric Reports on behalf of Claimants and Defendants in keeping with CPR 35 Expert Witness
