Mark Adcock is the third generation of the Adcock family to have worked in the practice of Adcocks Solicitors Ltd and has handled managed or supervised most areas of non-contentious law In particular he has wide experience in the administration of estates, preparation of wills, private land trusts, residential conveyancing and more latterly leasehold reform law He is and has been a trustee of many family trusts and acted as professional executor of a very large number of estates during his career.
Mark advised the Law Commission during the preparation of the consultation paper on Landlord and Tenant enfranchisement rights, one of the largest such consultation papers ever produced by the Law Commission The consultation ultimately led to the passing of the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 1924 He has a working knowledge of the methods of valuation of reversionary interests, the right to manage legislation and in particular rights under the Landlord & Tenant Act 1987. He has written several articles for professional publication on the development of the law in this area and the significant changes that have recently occurred
Apart from providing expert opinion on the practicalities in his specialist area, Mark also assists with evidence for professional disciplinary matters especially in the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal where he has provided professional opinion for the prosecuting authority. Mark has an innate sense of detail. He can quickly assess the merits of a case and is practical in his approach to the issues His reports are thorough and detailed
Now a consultant director for the family firm, Mark is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Law and part time solicitor to a small property investment and management company
