I’ve been a Consultant Ophthalmologist in active NHS clinical practice for over 25 years. I have a special interest in Corneal disease, complex Cataract Surgery (and the complications thereof), and Paediatric Ophthalmology I also have expertise in Laser Eye Surgery
I was the Past Senior Examiner for the Royal College Part 2 examination, and have undertaken External Clinical Review on behalf of the Royal College I have been providing expert witness services for most of my career, and have experience of giving evidence in Court, including extensive cross-examination. My service includes:
A turnaround time within at most 4 weeks of accepting instructions with all relevant documents – but a fast-track service is available on request (a fee uplift may apply)
Access to a full repertoire of diagnostic services including refraction, computerised visual field analysis, photography (including wide-field retinal imaging), Pentacam corneal topography and biometry
Attendance at conferences in person, by telephone and online
I have acted as an advisor to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as an External Clinical Advisor in cases of underperformance by colleagues, and have provided reports for the Healthcare Ombudsman
Pro-bono advice on case merit prior to instruction (please contact me)
I will adjust my terms of business under certain circumstances if instructed by an agency by prior agreement before accepting formal instruction
I provide all reports and communications via email. All confidential material is password protected, and no client / patient identifiable data is transmitted electronically.
