ABSTRACT
As architects we take decisions always around the user; we design with our feelings, experiences and emotions. The question is, “How can we get the best out of people?”, “How transforming spaces generate a new kind of citizen?”
“IN CONTEXT OF URBAN WELLBEING, HAPPINESS IS NOT THE CITY ITSELF, IT IS OUR EVERYDAY JOURNEYS THROUGH THE CITY, THE WAY WE INTERACT WITH THE IT”
This document provides an overview of the research made by Tecnológico de Monterrey students for Elop*project: (e)coliving. Charts, graphics, and analysis were made in order to understand different connections as: local environment, tourism with growing economy, employment rate and land use, gender and economic growth, education and mobility, among others. The research is part of one larger project that will end with: A long term (50 years) aspirational vision for Bangor. A Co-living Space Design. A Wellness Network Guidebook , for other to create coliving. An account of the design process. The purpose of this paper is to provide elop* participants with some necessary data to understand the project’s background and future goals. Being the main objective to understand how Bangor current situation can use Wellness as a theme that is worth of research.

HISTORY In the 20th century Bangor was completely convert to a commercial city and because of that the growth of the city increase. New roads where developed with different destinations like Porthaethwy, London and Dublin. In the eighteenth century Bangor became the primer export of slate of the North Wales. The suspension bridge in Menai Strait was the main infrasestructure in 1826, this help to improve the route of London to Holyhead. In 1848 the construction of the railway brought a bigger importance to the city.
1
THE ORIGINS OF THE CITY OF BANGOR GO BACK TO THE 525 A.D. WHEN A CELTIC MONASTERY FOUNDED THE “BANGOR CATHEDRAL”. THE CATHEDRAL HAS BEEN MODIFY THROUGHOUT THE CENTURIES. THE NAME OF BANGOR COMES FROM THE WELSH LANGUAGE AND IT MEANS A TYPE OF FENCED-IN ENCLOUSURE THAT DESCRIBE THE ORIGINAL MONASTERY.
BANGOR, GWYNEDD
THE CLOCK TOWER was build in the 1887 with a Victorian redbrick style was the gift of the Mayor Thomas Lewis. “HEART OF BANGOR” is actually kwon as a meeting place. The most important buildings in Bangor have a ecclesiastic style, like the Friars School, the Bangor University, St Mary´s College and the Normal College Established. THE GARTH PIER was a important construction which is it is the secondlongest pier in Wales with 460 m lenght, this attracted many tourism to the city in the summer. “LA MARGUERITE” is the most popular excursion ship in the country.
