Cruising Japan & Asia

Cruising Japan & Asia

Discover Japan and Asia by Sea

Asia is anything but a monolith. It’s a rich patchwork of cultures, cuisines and coastlines. From Japan’s neon-lit cities and quiet mountain shrines to Vietnam’s limestone bays and Thailand’s temple-fringed islands, the contrasts are striking … and best experienced by sea.

A cruise lets you see more here without rushing. You can wake to views of Mt Fuji in Shimizu, sip cold sake in Hakodate, or get lost in colourful alleys in Busan – all by unpacking just once. And with cruise lines unveiling a veritable fleet of deeper itineraries timed for cherry blossoms, autumn foliage and gorgeous weather, now is the time to book. Each brand brings its own energy ashore – and your own energy might just depend on the kind of traveller you are. Royal Caribbean® brings high-octane excitement and familyfriendly thrills. You know the kind we’re talking about: it’s what drives you to go skydiving at sea on the RipCord® by iFLY® aboard Ovation of the Seas®, racing bumper cars at SeaPlex® 1 , or catching aerial acrobatics at Two70®. While cruising

Thailand, for example, families can go from cheering each other on at the ship’s FlowRider® Surf Simulator in the morning to swimming on golden beaches as the sun sinks.

With Celebrity Cruises®, enjoy the intimate feel and thoughtful service of a smaller ship, the variety and excitement of a bigger one, and experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Discover unspoiled beaches, taste exotic flavours and immerse yourself in ancient cultures on a cruise through Thailand and Vietnam. The only delights that will pull you away from the markets of Bangkok and the banh mi of Ho Chi Minh City will be back onboard, with the enhanced accommodations, new food experiences and elevated spaces to explore and restore. Want to continue your delectable adventures back at sea? Silversea’s ultra-luxury voyages are calling – immersive culinary journeys that reflect the delicious wonder of each destination. If you love smaller ships, and all-inclusive fine-dining and drinks, then Silversea is perfect for you, and your tastebuds.

In the pages ahead, you’ll sail through Japan’s samurai cities, wander South Korea’s coastal markets, and uncover Southeast Asia’s spice routes and sacred temples. Whatever your travel style – whether that’s adventure, indulgence or luxury – this is how cruising brings Asia to life.

Clockwise from right: Celebrity Solstice® makes a triumphant arrival in Vietnam; Living the high life on the pool deck of the Silver Ray; Enjoy the thrill of bumper cars on Spectrum of the Seas®.

Why cruise vs land travel?

The best way to explore Japan and Asia is by sea.

MORE MOMENTS, LESS UNPACKING

Land travel across Asia is thrilling, but it can be exhausting. You’re hopping trains, repacking bags, chasing hotel check-ins and trying to find taxis. Cruising simplifies all that. You board once, unpack once, and wake each day in different destinations – from Osaka’s buzzing Dotonbori to the quiet temples of Nha Trang to Jeju Island’s cliff-fringed beaches. And with Silversea, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises – every sea day becomes part of the adventure, not just a transition.

SEE THE ICONS AND THE IN-BETWEENS

Land travel tends to stick to the bigticket cities. Cruising lets you string together major metropolises with lesser- known towns. You can stop in Hakodate to sample crisp morning market seafood, dock right at the gates of UNESCO-listed Hoi An, and sit under the cherry blossoms of Tokyo. But you can also wind through the vibrant murals of Gamcheon Culture Village in Busan, soak in the peaceful hot springs of Kumamoto, or snorkel among the coral of Ishigaki Island.

You just need to pick the cruise itinerary to match your travel style.

AWAY FROM THE CROWDS (WHEN YOU WANT TO BE)

Asia can overwhelm your senses, albeit in all the best ways. But after a day in the sensory explosion of a street market or a shrine-laden city, there’s nothing like returning to the calm of your ship. That might be unwinding in the tranquillity of The Spa on a Celebrity ship, sipping cocktails under the stars on a Silversea deck 2 , or enjoy a world class show aboard Royal Caribbean. Your home at sea is always a welcome retreat.

BACK ON BOARD

Expect service that is warm, intuitive, and multilingual – whether that’s a concierge who knows your favourite cocktail, personalised service, or crew offering tips for your next port. It’s all about enhancing every part of your journey, from suite to shore and back again.

A MORE HOLISTIC WAY TO TRAVEL

Accommodation, transport, entertainment, dining and more. When you’re travelling under your own steam, it can be hard to know where you are before it all adds up. But with cruising holidays, there is excellent value for all of the above – and even more. With Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea, we’re talking world-class service with optional touches like curated excursions, expert-led cultural programs and airport transfers. It’s travelling in style, and without any of those unwelcome travel surprises.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

The best thing about a cruise from Asia is immersing in your departure city’s vibrant culture before and after you cruise.

Silversea, Celebrity Cruises or Royal Caribbean?

Not sure which suits you? It starts with how you like to travel.

TAILORED TO YOUR STYLE

Adventure-packed or ultra-refined?

Gourmet or family-focused? There are three distinctive ways to cruise Japan and Asia: Royal Caribbean for thrilling family adventures, Celebrity Cruises for an elevated getaway beyond anything you ever imagined, and Silversea for luxurious, immersive experiences. Between them, there’s a ship that fits your travel style to experience Asia, your way.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SHIP

If your idea of fun involves skydiving simulators, bumper cars and glow-in-the-dark laser tag, Royal Caribbean brings the energy for your family. Picture yourself aboard Spectrum of the Seas®, where you might spend a morning surfing the FLOWRIDER® 1 and the evening dining in a veritable teppanyaki theatre before catching a show.

Prefer unforgettable experiences you won’t find anywhere else?

Celebrity Cruises’ curated itineraries, like the 15-night Thailand and Vietnam Holiday, blur the line between ship and shore. Where the bustle of Bangkok gives way to poolside

Solarium bliss 2 , wine lounges overlooking the sea, and specialty restaurants to excite your palate and leave you wanting more.

Craving something indulgent, slow and immersive? Silversea is the gold standard. Its new S.A.L.T. 3 (Sea and Land Taste) program is an immersive culinary journey that brings each destination to life. Expect regional cooking classes at the S.A.L.T. LAB , guided market visits, and an 11-course tasting experience at the S.A.L.T. CHEF’S TABLE . Every bite is a deep dive into local flavour and culinary craft.

GO BEYOND THE SHIP

Your cruise doesn’t just deliver you to each destination. They also help you to explore them like the locals do, without the pressure to plan it all yourself. Wherever you’re dropping anchor – be that Hiroshima Bay or Hakodate – there are plenty of smartly designed shore excursions.

For fast-paced, family-friendly experiences, Royal Caribbean has everything from seeing Tokyo’s Imperial Palace to ferrying across Kagoshima Bay for a close-up look at the mighty Sakurajima volcano.

Celebrity Cruises has a suite of immersive, unique shore excursions for you to experience the allure of Asia. Think a traditional sushi lunch on the summit of Mt Hakodate, witnessing a traditional Maiko performance in Kyoto, and time to unwind at a ryokan-style spa.

Silversea’s shore excursions are designed for those who want to go even deeper. Guided temple tours, market-to-table cooking classes, and behind-the-scenes access to artisans and experts are all part of the journey.

SILVERSEA INCLUSIONS

Luxury is more than an idea, it’s a feeling. On board it’s all inclusive. Enjoy 24-hour gourmet dining, round- the-clock personal butler service, wi-fi, superb entertainment and premium beverages (think unlimited pours of champagne, spirits and up to 50 wines from the Silversea Cellar) that Silversea is known for..

CELEBRITY INCLUSIONS

There are two options for onboard experiences: the ‘All Included’ package, featuring drinks and Wi-Fi, and the ‘Cruise-Only’ fare with customisable add-ons. Standard beverages, diverse dining options, live shows, and most onboard activities are included across both options.

ROYAL CARIBBEAN INCLUSIONS

From memorable original productions, Broadway shows and live music to thrills like the FlowRider® surf simulator and rock climbing wall, a Royal Caribbean cruise includes a range of onboard entertainment and activities. Enjoy complimentary dining from a range of restaurants and other services, like kid’s club.

Everything to know when setting sail through Asia

VISAS

Before boarding your cruise, it pays to check what travel documents you’ll need. Most nationalities (including Aussies and Kiwis) can cruise Asia with minimal visa requirements, especially when arriving by ship. Still, obtaining visas is the responsibility of guests, so it’s best to double-check with your travel agent.

CURRENCY

Before you go... ... and what to expect when you arrive

When it comes to onshore spending, do some research before you go. Some countries are still cash focused. Most destinations accept major credit cards, but having a small amount of local currency on hand can be handy for markets, tips or temple offerings. Just know that onboard, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea use US dollars as their onboard currency. Don’t forget to notify your bank that you’re travelling!

STAYING CONNECTED

Need to keep one eye on the outside world? Whether it’s live streaming sunsets to the group chat or plotting out shore excursions on Google Maps, wifi is available across all ships. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises offer a range of pre-purchased data packages, from casual browsing to unlimited streaming, while Silversea includes wi-fi.

FLIGHTS MADE EASY

All three brands make flying to your cruise simpler than ever. Royal Caribbean’s Air2Sea, Celebrity Cruises’ Flights by Celebrity and Silversea’s custom flight services all let you book airfares in tandem with your voyage. It’s a seamless way to lock in competitive pricing, connection protection and peace of mind - your travel agent can help.

CUSTOMS AND ETIQUETTE IN JAPAN

Japan is warm, welcoming, and wonderfully unique – but first-time visitors should be mindful of local customs. A few basics go a long way. Dress code: The golden rule when dressing in Japan is the importance people here place on being well kept. But don’t worry – you won’t need a suit. In the city, go for smart casual. Make sure you’re neat, especially for restaurant and temple visits.

Tipping: Tipping is not expected here; in fact, doing so can cause confusion. Good service is already included, and your gratitude is best expressed with a smile or polite bow. Shoes: Be ready to slip them off when entering certain temples, traditional restaurants, and homes. This is where clean socks and uncomplicated shoelaces come in handy.

Onsen etiquette: Planning to try a Japanese bathhouse? Do! But note: swimsuits aren’t worn, tattoos should be covered, and a good presoak scrub is a must. Most onsen are gender separated and deeply relaxing once you get the hang of it.

Plus: Use both hands when offering or accepting items (like money or business cards), speak softly in public spaces, and be punctual for tours –these are all signs of respect. When travelling on transport, keep phone use quiet and conversations low key.

Right: Have fun between destinations with activities for all ages, like skydiving simulators and aqua coasters.

RoyalCaribbean

There are few travel experiences as memorable as diving into the sights, scents and splendour of Asia – and, better yet, seeing a travel destination anew through the eyes of young and first-time travellers. Watching your family experience the street food of Singapore, the energy of Bangkok’s bustling markets, or the glittering skyline of Tokyo, is the kind of feeling memories are made of.

Asia is simply brimming with unforgettable experiences, no matter whether your family is made up of adventurous types, history buffs, nature lovers, gourmands, or architecture enthusiasts. In Asia there are experiences to suit all styles of travellers, at all ages.

Perhaps the only thing better than experiencing the ultimate adventure alongside your family in these spectacular destinations, is the ease that comes from following a professionally plotted holiday and arriving at each new city in the comfort of a familyfriendly Royal Caribbean world class ship.

While it’s undoubtedly an exciting prospect, being the family member tasked with planning your family’s dream holiday can present its challenges. There’s bound to be a mixture of ages to cater to among your co-travellers – which means

you’ll need to organise a range of activities and experiences to cover off everyone’s wishlists. You’ll need to secure accommodation that suits adventurers young and old, and at the top of the to-do list, you’ll want to make your journey as fuss free and relaxing as possible. It is a holiday, after all.

The solution to these would-be challenges? Instead of hurriedly herding your family between destinations – with loads of luggage in tow – opt for a holiday that removes the rush and allows every member of your family (yes, you too) to switch off and spend time, instead, making memories. For the comfort, convenience and peace of mind that comes from following a cleverly curated itinerary, put the wind in your family’s sails, and board a Royal Caribbean cruise destined for adventure. Once you arrive, you can choose your own adventure. More exciting still, seasoned Royal Caribbean passengers will know that these ships are no average vessels. Onboard you’ll find activities befitting all families – from skydiving simulators to aqua coasters – and some of the most exciting culinary concepts at sea, which range from casual diners to sophisticated restaurants. Then there’s the entertainment that sees robots mix your drinks, dancers and DJs take to the stage, and aerial acrobatics enthral. Intrigued? Wait until you read about the family suite that includes an insuite slide, cinema and a Royal Genie who’s ready to curate the ultimate family holiday. Your kids will thank you.

Deeper Japan in School Holidays

20

December 2026

9 nights Spectrum of the Seas®

Delight in the culture of the multifaceted cities of Japan on a nine-night cruise, suitable for families of all ages. Visit cherry tree-dappled gardens and historic castles where samurai once roamed, explore a familiar abandoned island, and savour regional flavours. Become better acquainted with a country where old meets new and, better yet, bookend your journey in Hong Kong for an immersive Southeast Asian sojourn your family will remember.

Onshore highlights

NAGASAKI Japan

A fascinating port town with Dutch history dating back to the 1500s, Nagasaki is full of unexpected surprises. Visit a mysterious abandoned island –GUNKANJIMA 1 or ‘Battleship Island’ – perhaps best known for its appearance in the James Bond film Skyfall Behold the extensive views from the observation deck at Mt Inasa, Nagasaki’s tallest mountain. Refuel with a meal featuring the local cuisine (cubes of pork belly braised in an umami-rich dashi broth are a regional specialty) and Portuguese-influenced desserts. Save time for a spot of shopping in the Hamano-machi shopping district, where you’ll find quintessentially Japanese wares to take home.

KAGOSHIMA Japan

Kagoshima offers something for everyone, from the self-appointed family history buff, to the avid gardener, and the foodie of the family. In Kagoshima, travellers can wander around a 17th-century samurai garden, before sampling traditionally prepared green tea and chocolate sweets on the grounds of a sprawling estate (SENGAN-EN 2 ). Speaking of traditional fare, this naturally scenic area of Japan is home to the famed kurobuta (black pork) often appearing in hotpot dishes, served alongside southern Japan’s well-loved distilled spirit, shochu. Kagoshima’s locally crafted, artisan wares – such as porcelain vases and bowls, textiles and glassware – make ideal souvenirs.

KUMAMOTO Japan

The lantern-lined streets of Kumamoto present an intriguing example of the contrast between contemporary kawaii culture of Japanese cities and its history-steeped structures – including the iconic KUMAMOTO CASTLE 3 Step back into the times of the samurai with the 17th-century fortress, where samurai once dwelled, and visit the tranquil 1632-established SUIZENJI GARDENS . It would also be remiss of visitors to this city not to try its beloved Kumamoto ramen noodle soup.

HONG KONG China

There’s no place quite like Hong Kong, China, and there are many ways to see it. By ferry you can cruise over its waters, by bus you can ride to STANLEY HARBOUR , by foot you can explore its street food and shopping offerings, and, via the PEAK TRAM 4 you can travel to the almost 550-metre-tall Victoria Peak to take in the sights of this effervescent metropolis. Want to be a hero? Take the kids to Hong Kong Disneyland, only an hour from Hong Kong central.

The ship

Regular Royal Caribbean passengers will know that Spectrum of the Seas® is no ordinary ship. While it may offer all the hallmarks of a cruising holiday – think poolside cocktails and entertainment – this ship is home to a selection of truly inimitable experiences that’ll have you eager to spend more days at sea. Surprising and delighting passengers is the uniquely Royal Caribbean BIONIC BAR® where robots create and pour custom drinks for you.

Then, there’s the first skydiving simulator at sea, the RIPCORD® BY IFLY®, and a surf simulator, FLOWRIDER®, that allows you to surf on board. Ninety metres above deck is the NORTH STAR® 5 , an observation capsule that offers 360-degree views, and holds the Guinness World Record for the tallest viewing deck on a cruise ship. Beyond these attractions there’s the spacious, family-friendly suites, an impressive diversity of dining, and so much more to explore.

Visitors can also try the region’s topnotch tuna at one of Shimizu Sushi Alley’s many sushi restaurants.

KYOTO Japan

Honouring tradition, Kyoto is perhaps best known for its gleaming temples – including KINKAJU-JI 4 , the shining Golden Pavilion – and its longstanding KIYOMIZU-DERA Buddhist temple. Many flock to Kyoto not only for the highly popular temples, but also to see the rows of red torii gates at its well-photographed Shinto shrine, FUSHIMI INARI-TAISHA . For a breath of fresh air, Arashiyama’s bamboo forest presents a verdant and peaceful destination in which you can follow the PHILOSOPHER’S PATH . Or, find Zen at the temple of RYOAN-JI – where a meditative Zen garden awaits. Many visitors like to wander up MOUNT OTOWA , famed for its cosy, traditional restaurants and shopping opportunities, too.

Ultimate School Holiday Adventure

Soak in the scents of its incense-perfumed air at THIEN HAU TEMPLE , indulge in the robust flavours of pho 1 or banh mi in the Vietnamese cuisine’s birthplace, gaze at the fastpaced metropolis and listen to its sea of motorbikes from the BITEXCO TOWER’S SKY DECK , and pick up local handicrafts at its many marketplaces. Get around on a tuk tuk or take a boat ride over the Chao Phraya River to see more of this heady, enticing city.

LANGKAWI Malaysia

A contrast to the bustling cities you’ll explore as part of this indepth Southeast Asian adventure, Langkawi, situated in Malaysia’s Andaman Sea, is an island overflowing with natural beauty. Take a cable car ride (and your camera) up Mt Mat Chinchang and capture the panoramic views below. At the top, brave travellers can traverse the SKYBRIDGE 3 – suspended 700m high between two peaks. Or, at sea level, take a jetski to visit the surrounding islands and check out the caves and rainforests nestled among this postcard-worthy scenery.

Singapore is a destination made up of distinct pockets, each an exciting prospect for travellers seeking great food, inspiring sights and sophisticated experiences. From its energetic food-centric CHINATOWN 4 to the temples of LITTLE INDIA , and from the KAMPONG GLAM HERITAGE TRAIL to a beloved gold-topped mosque, this city-state is one that surprises at every turn. Among Singapore’s best attractions for families are UNIVERSAL STUDIOS , its ‘supertrees’ and ‘biodomes’ that reside at the GARDENS BY THE BAY, the natural beauty of the SINGAPORE BOTANIC GARDEN , the MARINA BAY SANDS rooftop – providing an incredible view over the city – and the one cocktail that rules them all: a Singapore Sling at RAFFLES HOTEL

The ship

There’s a reason Navigator of the Seas® is a name that’s become synonymous with family holidays. This is a ship that has it all (on which everyone’s happy to spend days at sea). Family-friendly features abound on board – from the pool deck to THE BLASTER® 5 aqua coaster (the longest waterslide at sea) and its dedicated ice-skating rink. And, thrill seekers (or so-called big kids) flock to RIPTIDE®, the only headfirst mat-racer waterslide at sea. Family-friendly dining sees American diner dishes served up at JOHNNY ROCKETS® EXPRESS , laidback Italian at JAMIE’S ITALIAN by Jamie Oliver, and Mexican fiestastyle feasting at EL LOCO FRESH®

Vietnam & Thailand

Multiple Dates 12 nights Celebrity Solstice®

This 12-night cruise departs from Hong Kong, China and sails through the cultural heart of Southeast Asia, visiting Vietnam’s vibrant cities and Thailand’s stunning beaches before ending in Singapore.

Onshore highlights

HANOI

/ HA LONG BAY Vietnam

With more than 1600 limestone islands and islets surrounded by a deep green sea, it’s easy to understand why the majestic HA LONG BAY 1 has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore this natural wonder on a junk boat, so you can weave in and around the stunning limestone karsts, caves and floating villages. Nearby Hanoi is home to such impressive structures as the PRESIDENTIAL PALACE and TEMPLE OF LITERATURE , Vietnam’s first national university (dating back to 1070AD). Foodies will revel in the fact that this is the birthplace of Vietnam’s iconic noodle soup, pho, but you’ll also find tasty bun cha (grilled pork with noodles), egg coffee (yes, it’s a thing, and it’s delicious), and banh mi with a northern twist.

HUE / DANANG Vietnam

Known for its inviting beaches, Danang is fast becoming the place to be. Its relaxed vibe, coastal location and friendly locals make it the perfect gateway city to the beautiful Marble Mountains and Ba Na Hills (where giant stone hands support the GOLDEN BRIDGE). The ancient imperial capital of Hue (a short drive via the scenic Hai Van Pass) is centred on the Perfume River. Hue’s IMPERIAL CITY 2 is a UNESCO World Heritage site and includes the FORBIDDEN PURPLE CITY once reserved purely for royals. It’s also famous for its elaborate emperor tombs, seven-storey THIEN MU PAGODA and bun bo Hue – a spicy beef noodle soup with lemongrass.

HO CHI MINH CITY Vietnam

Home to around eight million motorcycles, Ho Chi Minh City is a melting pot of cultures (including the country’s largest Chinatown), religions and architecture. Skyscrapers BITEXCO TOWER and LANDMARK 81 (Vietnam’s tallest building) tower over the French colonial NOTRE DAME church, Khmer shrines and Hindu temples. Don’t miss the CU CHI TUNNELS , which offer a snapshot into lives of Viet Cong fighters during the Vietnam War, then go in search of hu tieu 3 (a pork-based noodle soup with thin rice noodles) and com ga xoi mo (crispy-skinned chicken served over fragrant rice).

SINGAPORE

The fact that Singapore’s unofficial language is known as ‘Singlish’ (a unique mix of English, Chinese and Malay) tells you all about this intriguing city. Although the modern skyline, famous shopping districts and iconic GARDENS BY THE BAY 4 will dominate your first impressions, once you start to explore this Eastmeets-West city, echoes of the past can be seen in the British colonial buildings in the Civic District, the KRANJI WAR MEMORIAL and the 19th-century THIAN HOCK KENG TEMPLE . Leave time to explore Singapore’s world-famous food markets, like LAU PA SAT and the MAXWELL FOOD CENTRE where you can get Michelinstarred meals for under $10.

MT FUJI Japan

Dedicated to the god of Mt Fuji, SHIZUOKA SENGEN SHRINE 1 is really a group of shrines known for their architecture, history and gardens. Enjoy a relaxing wander through the grounds to discover the decorated shrines, statues and water features.

Nearby SUMTO PARK , which sits on the site of a 16th-century castle, is now an attractive central park featuring castle ruins and reconstructions.

MOMIJIYAMA JAPANESE GARDEN can be found in the park’s northeastern corner, with its traditional manor house ponds and manicured design. However, the real highlights are the ancient pine grove forest near the sea at NIHONDAIRA PARK – look to the east to capture Mt Fuji’s beauty.

KOCHI CITY AND SAKE BREWERY Japan

KATSURAHAMA BEACH is one of Kochi’s most photographed beaches, and for good reason. Famous for its moonviewing parties, this Pacific Oceanfacing stretch of sand is also home to the 13-metre-tall bronze statue of Ryoma Sakamoto, a samurai from the Tokugawa Shogunate. After admiring both the beach and the statue, discover the nearby 17th-century fortress of KOCHI CASTLE 2 with its ornate design and traditional wood construction. Intricately preserved, the castle and its gardens are popular during cherry blossom season and for the panoramic views of the city from its walls. Finish with a tasting of traditional Japanese sake at the award-winning, family-run brewery TAKAGI SAKE BREWERY

TAIPEI Taiwan

Situated in the heart of the Taipei Basin, Taipei – Taiwan’s capital – is a modern city where ancient temples sit alongside glistening skyscrapers. The largest and most ornate, PAO-AN TEMPLE , was founded in the 1700s. It’s a busy temple that’s considered a national treasure, and it’s even been recognised by the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation. Nearby, the CONFUCIUS TEMPLE is dedicated to Confucius’s value of simplicity and is much newer. For a steaming dim sum lunch, relax in the 160-year-old LIN-AN-TAI OLD HOMESTEAD , one of the best-preserved traditional houses in Taipei, before taking in the views of the 508-metretall TAIPEI 101 3 skyscraper.

HONG KONG China

Leave the jagged skyline of Hong Kong’s CBD and enjoy a traditional fishing village of LANTAU ISLAND . Known as the ‘Venice of Hong Kong’, TAI O 4 is famous for its houses built on stilts to reclaim the transient tidal flats. Explore with a guided walking tour of the narrow canals and shops, before a short drive to PO LIN MONASTERY to visit the world’s largest seated bronze Buddha, one of Hong Kong’s most popular attractions. At 34 metres tall, the imposing statue dominates the peak of Mt Muk Yue. After exploring the Po Lin Monastery, dine on a traditional Chinese vegetarian lunch.

Today, it pulses with energy, street food aromas, and a friendliness that becomes infectious among visitors. From the cruise port, embark on a short voyage to OSAKA CASTLE. This impressive landmark is a 440-year-old symbol of Osaka’s samurai past, with lush gardens that now serve as a peaceful haven for reflection. Less than a 10-minute drive from Osaka Castle lies DŌTONBORI 2 , where glowing billboards reign and riverboats glide beneath illuminated bridges. KAMIGATA UKIYO-E MUSEUM showcases Osaka’s unique take on woodblock prints, which are often more playful and vibrant than Tokyo’s traditional styles.
