“Tough times, right!

At Silverfish, when life gets hairy many of us rely on the bike.

I’m often asked by family and friends what I think about when I’m out riding and my answer, “usually nothing, and that’s the point”.

Remember when you first learned to ride a bike and ventured out on the roads and trails. I was young, probably very young by today’s standards, but parenting was different then; they’d roll out my bike at the beginning of a summer holiday and wish me well for 6 weeks. The sense of independence, sometimes the glorious isolation and self-sufficiency, the sense of camaraderie when riding with my mates, the speed, the crashes, the stories, the pure adventure of it all.

Nothing has changed. Every time I swing my leg over a top tube or first sit my ass on the saddle, it’s like flicking a switch and whether I’m soaking up the outdoors, grinding up a hill, hooning it down a descent, sessioning a skill, building fitness, or just trying to stay upright, I’m living in the moment. Some people do meditation, I do bikes. We hope you and your customers enjoy the great products we’ve got for you this year. We’re really excited by what we can bring you and whilst we know it’s going to be tough out there, I just try to remember we’re not just selling bikes and bits, we’re facilitating ‘therapy’ and helping like-minded people create their own adventures, however big or small, long or short those may be.

At The ‘Fish, we care passionately about what we do and we’re here to support you, so get in touch if you think we can help.”
