If you are not a registered guest or program pass holder we invite you to join us this summer. Please visit the front desk to learn more. If you are a registered guest or program pass holder and have lost your badge or parking pass we ask that you visit the front desk for a replacement. A fee may apply. While on property we remind you that you are required to wear your badge at all times to have access to the campus and a variety of programs and activities. To purchase and/or pick up your badge and parking pass visit the front desk. Lastly, for everyone’s safety and security, those not displaying valid parking passes are subject to having their vehicles towed and those not wearing valid badges will be asked to leave the property.

SILVER BAY TRAILS WOODSIDE TRAILHEAD (located across Route 9N at south entrance to service road) is the starting point for the following destinations.
Inspiration Point . Red markers. Access Inspiration Point from the north. Follow blue trail, an
old logging road, until abrupt left turn onto red trail into woods. Steady upward climb. Moderate. 1 mile. 600 ft elevation gain. Inspiration Point . Access Inspiration Point from the south. Start on blue/white trail, left turn onto white Cliffside trail, at junction with orange trail sharp right, follow orange trail to junction with white trail at stream, sharp right onto white trail, white trail to sharp right at junction with red trail, follow red trail to Inspiration Point. Steady upward climb. Moderate. 1.5 miles. 600 ft elevation gain. Ryan's Ridge Lean-tos . Orange markers. Left turn off blue/white trail onto orange trail to Ryan's Ridge Lean-tos. In 2007 two lean-tos were built for children's programs in memory of Ryan Dickson, former Emp. Easy. 0.25 mile. 150 ft. elevation gain. Uncas Cliff . White markers. Follow blue/white trail to left turn onto white Cliffside Trail along base of escarpment marking ancient fault. Continue straight ahead on white trail at junction with orange trail. Steady upward climb, one very steep section. End at legendary cliff with remarkable view of lake. Difficult. 0.75 mile. 400 ft elevation gain. Skipper Mac's Cairn . White markers. Continue from Uncas Cliff on white trail, one short, steep climb, arrive at large cairn with views of the lake to the south and of Catamount Mt. to the west. Moderate from Uncas Cliff to Cairn. 1 mile and 600 ft elevation gain from trailhead. Uncas Waterfall from Cairn. Blue markers. Follow blue trail to small waterfall. Easy from Cairn. 1.25 mile and 600 ft elevation gain from trailhead. Uncas Waterfall from Woodside trailhead. White markers. Follow blue/white trail to left turn onto white Cliffside trail, sharp right turn onto orange trail, sharp left turn onto white trail, then blue trail to Waterfall. Steady upward climb, minor dips. Moderate. 1.25 mile and 450 ft elevation gain from trailhead. Lost Pond from south. Orange markers. Follow blue/white trail, left onto white Cliffside trail, sharp right turn onto orange trail, sharp right turn at stream onto white trail, straight ahead at junction with orange trail, proceed to side trail to a small vernal pond. Steady uphill climb. Moderate. 1.25 mile. 600 ft elevation gain. Lost Pond from north. Orange markers. Follow blue trail past junction to Inspiration Point to junction with trail with only orange markers, sharp left turn onto orange trail, continue to junction with side trail to pond. Mostly uphill. Moderate. 1 mile. 600 ft elevation gain. Hudushone Lean-to . Green markers. Blue trail to sharp left onto trail with only green markers. Steady uphill climb. Stunning views in an unspoiled wilderness setting. Moderate to difficult. 1 mile. 800 ft elevation gain. Jabez Pond from Woodside trailhead. Blue markers. Follow blue trail to junction with another blue trail, bear left, follow that blue trail to Silver Bay property line and then follow state markers to pond. Moderate underfoot but long and all uphill. 2.2 miles. 900 ft elevation gain.
ADAMS BROOK TRAILHEAD (located across Route 9N from Hillcrest Cottage) is the starting point for the following destinations.
Jabez Pond from Adams Brook trailhead. Blue markers. Follow blue trail to Silver Bay property
line and then state markers to pond. Moderate underfoot but long and all uphill. 1.5 miles, 900 ft elevation gain. Sunrise Mountain . Red markers. A difficult trail with rocky terrain and steep inclines; one of Silver Bay's most challenging hikes. 0.75 mile. 800 ft elevation gain. Bob James Trail . White markers. A moderate to difficult trail which connects Sunrise Mountain to the Jabez Pond trail. It offers a more gradual ascent to Sunrise Mt. from the west. 0.75 mile following white markers from the blue Jabez Pond trail to Sunrise Mt. 300 ft total elevation gain. North Jabez Trail . Orange markers. A moderate trail that climbs to state land and the north end of Jabez Pond. Left turn off Sunrise Mt. trail onto orange trail. 1.75 miles from Adams Brook trailhead to pond. 900 ft elevation gain.
ON-CAMPUS TRAILS Horn Memorial Nature Trail . White markers. Start at kiosk across from Fisher Gym. Level trail with 30 marked stations noting natural features. Easy. 1.25 mile loop. Lakeshore Trail . White markers. Start at beach on south side of Slim Point. Gorgeous minitrail, the short steep climb is over almost before it starts, views, wildflowers. Easy. 0.5 mile. 100 ft elevation gain.

There is not an ATM machine located on campus. The nearest ATM is located at The Silver Bay General Store (Sal’s), located across from our north entrance on Route 9N. Personal checks up to $50 may be cashed at the Front Desk.
For guest groups holding a contracted event at Silver Bay YMCA (e.g. conferences, weddings, etc.), the group leader is required to obtain written permission from Silver Bay YMCA prior to their event if they wish to utilize a professional vendor for drone photography and filming. Such permission, when granted, will be limited exclusively to the contracted event venue and time frame.

Check in begins at 4:00 p.m. Check out promptly by 10:00 a.m. Guest check in is located at the Front Desk in the Inn lobby. Please check with the Front Desk to ensure that all of your charges are settled prior to your departure.
The Front Desk has the answers for most of your questions regarding your stay. Guest services available at the front desk include guest messages, copy service, special food requests, lost and found, stamps and mail, scan and email, check cashing up to $50.00.
INTERNET ACCESS Free wireless internet is available in most areas of campus.

Lost and found is located at the Front Desk in the Inn lobby. If you misplace an item during your stay, please call us and we will do our best to locate the item and return it to you. Items that are turned in to lost and found are held for a period of two weeks. Please Note: Silver Bay is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

COPY SERVICES Copy, scan, and email services are available at the Front Desk. There may be a nominal charge.
DRONE/UAS POLICY The use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), including, but not limited to, drones and radio-controlled aircraft and devices, in airspace above Silver Bay YMCA requires advance written approval. Silver Bay YMCA places the highest priority on avoiding disruption and

Personal mail may be picked up at the Front Desk after 10:00 a.m. If you have overnight mail shipped to Silver Bay, be aware that we only receive one late afternoon shipment per day. Small packages, letters, and postcards may be mailed at the Front Desk daily. Out-going mail is picked up at 2:00 p.m.

RECYCLING
If something is not functioning in your room or cottage, contact the Front Desk to arrange for maintenance to help resolve the issue.
Silver Bay has added zero sort recycling receptacles across campus. No need to separate your paper, glass, and cans; our waste management company allows us to toss all recyclables into one bin.
MESSAGES AND INCOMING CALLS Messages and incoming calls are taken at the Front Desk. In the event of an emergency, Front Desk personnel will make every effort to locate the guest.
Silver Bay has a notary public on staff. Please contact the Front Desk to schedule an appointment.
Runners can enjoy running along Silver Bay Road (1.3 miles from end to end) or cross-country around campus and on the hiking trails. When running along Silver Bay Road, be sure to face traffic and wear bright colors or reflective clothing if running in the early morning hours or at twilight.
PARKING
SALES AND CONFERENCE SERVICES

When you arrive on-campus, please proceed to the front desk to check-in, pick up your badge and obtain a parking tag. For those staying in cottages, Paine Hall, Trinity House and Brookside Community House, your parking is next to/nearby your accommodation. The remaining guests are invited to unload/load at their accommodation, where designated parking for a maximum of 15 minutes is provided. After unloading, please park in the new main lot located at the end of the service road, near 9N. For our off-campus guests, there are several designated day-use lots located at Archery, the Children’s Pavilion, the Store, behind the William Boyd Center, the Tennis Backboard, and Fisher Gym. If those areas are full, you are invited to utilize our new main lot parking area. Handicap parking spaces are located all around campus, from Slim Point to Archery, and also in the new main parking area. For those who have a physical limitation and/or during inclement weather, a shuttle service will be available for transport. Please let the Front Desk staff know, and they will arrange for a pick-up.
PETS Pets are not allowed on campus, except for service animals. Owners are expected to clean up after their service animals.
QUIET HOURS Quiet hours are 11:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. throughout campus. Please be respectful of other guests.

If you would like to bring a conference, wedding, or family reunion to Silver Bay, please see a member of our Conference Services staff located near the Front Desk at the Inn. They will be happy to assist you.
SECURITY Silver Bay provides round-the-clock guest service personnel. If you have a security issue, please see the Front Desk.
SMOKING Silver Bay YMCA has a restricted smoking policy. Smoking of any kind is not allowed in any buildings, including guest rooms, meeting rooms and/or porches of any buildings. A charge of $300.00 may be charged to the credit card on file to cover damage/cleaning fees if you violate this policy. All public areas including beaches, unless posted otherwise, are deemed a no smoking area. Smoking tobacco is ONLY permitted in the designated smoking area (e.g. near the flagpole). As allowed by law in New York, Silver Bay YMCA has a strict no marijuana policy that forbids the possession, use and/or consumption of marijuana anywhere on our properties, in our facilities, or during participation in our programming.
TELEPHONES While Silver Bay’s campus has good cellular service through some major carriers, phone service can be unreliable in the area around Silver Bay. A telephone is available in the Inn lobby,
