New Florida residents must obtain a valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of establishing residency in order to legally drive in Florida.

Additionally, new Florida residents must also obtain auto insurance from a valid Florida insurance agent within 10 days of establishing residency in order to register and title your vehicle(s), vessel(s) and mobile home(s).

You are considered a Florida resident if you have:

▸ Started employment in Florida.

▸ Enrolled your child(ren) in a public school in Florida.

▸ Registered to vote in Florida.

▸ Filed for homestead tax exemption on property in Florida.

▸ Lived in Florida for a period of more than six consecutive months.

LEARNER’S AND INTERMEDIATE LICENSES

To obtain a Learner’s License, customers must be at least 15 years old and have an accompanying driver at least 21 years old occupying the front passenger seat while the licensee is operating the vehicle. Learner’s Licenses must be held for a period of one year or until the licensee’s 18th birthday, whichever comes first.

To obtain an Intermediate Driver’s License, customers must be at least 16 years old and have held their Learner’s License for at least one year or until their 18th birthday with no traffic convictions and pass the Road Test.

Hunting And Fishing Licenses

Recreational licenses may be purchased online through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Many recreational licenses may also be purchased at area sporting goods stores, bait and tackle shops, and other retail outlets. A valid hunting and fishing license must be carried on his or her person when participating in these activities unless a person is exempt. Annual licenses expire 12 months from the date of issuance.
