Subject: Advisory services results for your stainless-steel wire mesh cable trays Electrical continuity of connections.
Dear Mr. Nordensson,
Any information and documentation involving UL Mark services are provided on behalf of UL LLC (UL) or any authorized licensee of UL.
SOURCES OF REQUIREMENTS
Please note, all paragraphs below will reference these standards.
Test methods of NEMA VE 1 METAL CABLE TRAY SYSTEMS- Edition 6 - Issue Date 2017/07/14
CSA C22.2 No. 126.1, Metal Cable Tray Systems, Edition 4, Issue Date 07/2017
TESTING RESULTS:
Electrical continuity of connections: 38 combinations of your stainless-steel wire mesh cable trays were provided for evaluation of electrical continuity of connections test in accordance with the standards mentioned above. We first conducted all your requested tray combinations with the instructed couplings provided in the installation instructions. If the results were not below the required calculated resistance of less than 0.00033 ohms, the test was repeated with 2 grounding lugs and 6 AWG ground wire provided by the manufacture.
All cable tray connections from “tray to tray” required a combination of 2 grounding lugs and a 6 inch long 6 AWG ground wire across the side rail connection for the results to be below 0.00033 ohms.
The cover and the divider were acceptable without an additional grounding means of less than 0.005 ohms.
Notes:
1. Please refer to the data package attached for all your data recorded.
2. 2 samples were both labeled as # 38 so we inserted a description of the 2 samples in lines 37 and 38.
3. We were unable to locate sample number 29. You will see on page 7 of 9 that sample number 29 is blank.
We appreciate the opportunity to be your business partner and preferred service provider. This letter serves as the letter close of Advisory Services project 4790850597 and does not imply or grant certification to the standards described above. If you have any additional questions or comments about this process, feel free to contact us.
