ESSENTIALLY MEZZOGIORNO

L’Amo Bistro del Mare brings the essence of Southern Italian cuisine to Dubai Harbor

L’Amo Bistro del Mare is an upscale Italian seafood restaurant that brings the cuisine and atmosphere of the Southern Italian coast to Dubai. Anchored at Dubai Harbor, the venue offers panoramic views of the adjacent Yacht Club, Bluewaters Island and Ain Dubai.

Surrounded by water, the restaurant’s airy open-plan dining room is fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows all around, offering unobstructed 360-degree views of the surroundings. Reflecting the flair of Southern Italian restaurants, the interior space is highlighted by neutral tones of beige and wood, with terrazzostyle tiles. The restaurant also encompasses an outdoor terrace and a sundowner spot serviced by a separate bar with low-lying lounge tables.

Inside, a display bar presents the daily catch imported directly from Italy, Spain and the Galicia region, which can be cooked to order. The venue also offers an extensive selection of caviar and a collection of 300 grape labels, imported exclusively from Italy.

L’Amo serves several signature dishes, each a culinary delight. Spaghettone Cacio & Pepe e Ricci Di Mare is a sumptuous Spaghetti Mancini with sea urchins, pecorino cheese and black pepper. Spaghetti Alla Chitarra con Vongole & Calamaretti e Bottarga brings together spaghetti with clams, squid and mullet roe. Bottarga, or mullet roe, is a seafood delicacy brought to L’Amo from a small Sardinian farm called Smeralda in Cagliari.

Le Tre Tartare is a combination of three delicacies: a Sicilian red prawn with caviar, tuna with capers mayo and croutons, and seabass with mullet roe, lime and celery salad. A newly launched dish for the summer season is the Insalata Mediterranea, a Mediterranean-inspired Seafood salad made with frutti di mare, tomatoes, and cucumber. Other highlights include Sashimi Di Ricciola Mediterranea Con Panzanella, Gallician amberjack sashimi and panzanella salad.

The restaurant also offers some of Italy’s much-loved traditional desserts, such as Profiterole - a delicate chou pastry filled with indulgent in-house hazelnut cream and topped with roasted hazelnuts. Another standout is the ‘Baba,’ a deliciously decadent cake soaked in a traditional citrus syrup, served with freshly made pastry cream.

Following a successful launch in March 2022, L’Amo Bistro del Mare was awarded one toque rating in the prestigious Gault&Millau UAE guide.
