A MARKET ON THE RISE The summer season is full of sunshine, beach days, road trips, bbq’s and vacations.

We hope you are enjoying this time with your family and friends and taking advantage of all the beauty that Long Island has to offer. Even with all of the distractions of summer, serious buyers are out shopping for new homes in full force!

Just like the temperature outside the local real estate market remains HOT…The Multiple Listing Service of Long Island reports the median sale price for residential homes sold in Suffolk County is up 8% while Nassau County saw prices increase 6% year-over-year. Pending home sale activity also continued to rise with Suffolk posting a jump of 5% from the previous year, while Nassau saw an increase of 2%.

As we follow the trends in Long Island real estate we must make note of the strength of the entry level and trade up markets as bidding wars and stiff competition continues. We are keeping a close eye on the luxury markets and will report back next quarter. However, one fact remains, if you price your home competitively the market will react positively…
