Welcome to SiGMA Euro-Med 2025. The name may have changed, but it’s still the same quality event you remember.
From a founder’s perspective, this transformation is deeply personal and incredibly meaningful. It’s a moment of pride to witness how far we’ve come – from a small show first launched in Malta to a globally recognised platform with a growing international presence.
A decade on from that first show, and Malta continues to play a central and respected role, serving as a trusted hub within the Euro-Med landscape. Its longstanding reputation as a leader in gaming regulation, innovation, and business-friendly policy makes it a natural anchor for regional growth.
Positioned at the heart of the Mediterranean, Malta’s unique and geographically significant location naturally lends itself to representing not just one country, but the entire Euro-Med region. Nestled in the very heart of the Mediterranean, the islands serve as an important bridge between continents – a gateway to centuries of rich cultural exchanges, trade that have been built on deep historical ties.
This year the islands also play host to the second leg of the SiGMA Poker Tour, an electric week-long series that seeks to follow on from the resounding success of our debut edition in Brazil. Designed to bring a fresh, global edge to the world of competitive poker, the tour aims to attract players
from diverse backgrounds and skill levels to high-stakes tournaments – part of our mission to connect the gaming industry worldwide.
We have also done this with charity in mind. Surrounded by a hyper successful industry in the B2B industry, we have tried to merge the two –connecting charity outreach with our exhibitors. We now want to replicate this formula on the B2C side of things.
Even as SiGMA expands its international footprint, the Euro-Med event continues to remain an important part of our calendar year – a gateway that connects continents, offering credibility, infrastructure, and a well-established ecosystem that supports the broader vision and reinforces Malta’s position as a key gateway for innovation, investment, and opportunity in the region.
By sharpening our focus on the Euro-Med identity, we aim to attract a broader range of investors, operators, and solution providers, ultimately bringing more business and support infrastructure to Malta’s shores.
What makes it even more rewarding is that throughout this journey, we’ve remained true to our roots. Malta will always be where it all began, and that foundation continues to shape our values, our vision, and our commitment to building something that serves the wider industry while honoring where we started.

Step into Gozo’s Golden Hour
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. If you go by the calendar, Autumn may officially be on its way, but summer lingers a little longer on Gozitan shores. With the island’s clear turquoise waters still warm from the scorching summer sun, there’s nowhere prettier to visit than Ramla Bay. With its reddish-gold sands, Roman ruins, and mysterious cliffs, the Blue-Flag-certified beach is a pleasant drive through the fertile valley between the villages of Xaghra and Nadur. A 10 to 15 min climb to Ta’ Mixta Cava will reward you with an exceptional panoramic view of the bay. Hike up just as the sun sets for a vista that seems touched by Midas.
No visit to Ramla is complete without a stop at Calypso Cave. The island is thought to be the setting for Homer’s Ogygia. Here, if legends are to be believed, Ithaca’s absent king, Odysseus, washed ashore, spending seven spell bound years with the nymph Calypso. A short walk along the cliffs and you can visit the cave for yourself.
If sand isn’t your thing, pretty pebble beaches are everywhere. Don’t miss Mġarr ix-Xini –a remote cove tucked away in a steep gorge near Xewkija and Sannat. Steeped in history, the little beach was historically used as a harbour for the Knights of Malta. A 17th century watchtower still stands lookout today. In a more modern twist, the bay had a starring role in the 2014 film By the Sea, starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. It’s no secret why they chose it. Stunning sunsets light up its emerald waters, making it sparkle like a rare jewel. Head down with a kayak or dive in for a snorkelling session.
Speaking of jewels. Xlendi Bay is all about the visuals. With an imposing cliff-backed cove, pretty bay side restaurants, and deep, boat-studded waters, the bay is a photographer’s dream. Where better to round off your day than here?
For somewhere a little more secluded, there’s always Dwejra – home to the Inland Sea. Located on the far West of the island, its natural lagoon leads you through an impressive sea-arch out to the open sea and makes for a lovely boat trip. Film lovers will also know it as the setting for TV fantasy epic, Game of Thrones. Fans will recognise the breathtaking backdrops to Season 1’s Dothraki wedding. The nearby 1652 Dwejra Tower is also well preserved and open to visitors, offering elevated views over the area at golden hour.
Next go North. Almost 400 years old, the Xwejni salt pans are an ancient chessboard of hand-carved limestone – and the Phonecian-Roman era of salt making is still practiced today. Harvesting takes place from May to September, making your visit to SiGMA Euro-Med just in time to catch the last of the season.

From Medieval City to Marble Basilica
No trip to Gozo should pass up on a visit to the Citadel, an medieval fortified city built into the heart of Rabat’s hills. Inhabited since the Bronze Age, the site was once a thriving acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of Glauconis Civitas.The imposing structure that stands today is a 16th century stronghold that was rebuilt by the Knights of St. John following a devastating Ottoman attack in 1551. In modern times a few lucky families still reside within its walls, while the law courts and cathedral remain in daily use.
A treasure trove for history lovers, the city offers architectural gems, such as the Cathedral of the Assumption, with its original buildings such as the old prisons and grain silos still standing. The Citadel is also, deservedly part of Malta’s tentative UNESCO World Heritage site list. Round off your visit with a walk around its many museums before heading up to its honey-coloured stone ramparts for unbeatable views of Gozo.
Just a stone’s throw away is St. George’s Square, a bustling piazza in front of one of Gozo’s most beloved churches – St. George’s Basilica. Nicknamed the marble basilica, the church is richly clad in marble and boasts one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture. The old quarter is perfect for lazy day wandering, with narrow, winding streets filled with local cafes, souvenir shops, and bars. Sit back with a coffee and watch the world go by or visit by night and catch one of the many performances or feasts taking place.
Just next door is Independence Square . A busy little market place known locally as It-Tokk, the area is a hive of activity for both locals and tourists. Browse market stalls , stop at its many pub restaurants and cafes for a spot of lunch or people watching.

Benefiting elementary level children in Bonga, the project will focus on the construction of four new classrooms – an addition to the Kaffa Catholic Martyrs Elementary school. This project aims to help reduce overcrowding and accommodate more students near the Women’s Empowerment Centre.
\ Water Harvesting System at Wush Wush Kindergarten School – Bonga, Ethiopia
This vital project will install 3 large-capacity water tanks to guarantee daily access to clean and safe water for over 200 young children attending the Wush Wush Kindergarten School in Bonga.
\ Community Centre: Revenue-Generating Hub –Bonga, Ethiopia
This project will establish a sustainable centre with rental shops, a multipurpose hall, and guest accommodations, with proceeds funding other local education projects. The multifunctional community centre is designed to generate income for project sustainability and local upkeep.
