OHIO STATE SAE CHAPTER RAISES $50,000 FOR LOCAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL THROUGH ANNUAL PHILANTHROPY WEEK
Week-long fundraiser includes 5K run, blood drive, and community partnerships.
(Columbus, OH)– The Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) at The Ohio State University announced today that it has raised more than $50,000 for Nationwide Children’s Hospital through its annual philanthropy week, doubling last year’s total and setting a new chapter record.
The week-long fundraiser, held October 28 through November 3, engaged the entire campus community through events including a 5K Fun Run, blood drive partnership with the American Red Cross, pancake breakfast, and a finale concert featuring local musicians. More than 1,200 students, alumni, and community members participated across the week’s activities.
"This cause is deeply personal to our chapter," said chapter president Jake Williams, a junior studying mechanical engineering. "Several of our brothers have family members who’ve been treated at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. We wanted to give back to an institution that has meant so much to Columbus families."
The fundraising effort included partnerships with 12 other Greek organizations, local businesses along Main Street, and the OSU Alumni Association. All proceeds will support the hospital’s Child Life Services program, which helps children and families cope with the stress of hospitalization through play, preparation, and emotional support.
