Smart Metering Modem
The Purple Wireless Modem is designed to be used with a variety of energy meters to provide a robust communication channel for meter data to back office systems. The modem only weighs 67 grams, and its compact design fits inside the most common electrical meters on the market. Our modems provide a reliable gateway to collect and serve real-time data from smart meters used in industrial and domestic environments. The modem supports 4G, 3G, and 2G.

Thanks to its compact design, Purple fits inside most electricity meters. It safeguards the modem while providing power and ensures high durability and an extended lifespan.
The modem has a single 8-pin RJ45 connector for serial and power, and the antenna cable is mounted with an FME connector. Modems include a USB cable and antenna cable with a rubber grommet for simple mounting in the electric meter. For other products, we also have a Y-cable for RS232 communication with power input/output and communication cables.

Making electricity meters smart
Thanks to its smart and compact form, you can easily install the Purple modem inside the electricity meter, which will both protect the modem and supply it with power.
A significant advantage of mounting an external modem inside an electricity meter is that it’s easy and straightforward to replace the modem during repairs, or when the modem needs to be replaced.
