Sierra Pacific Mortgage Securing Your Identity During the Loan Process with DocuSign
What is DocuSign? In the simplest terms, DocuSign’s user authentication functionality is a knowledge-‐based authentication process for our borrowers to validate their identification and provides the ability to electronically sign (eSign) documents during the loan process.
Identity Authentication As a borrower, the first time you receive a document to eSign, you will be prompted to authenticate your identity. If your loan closes within 60 days, you will only have to authenticate once. If your loan doesn’t close within 60 days, you will be prompted to authenticate your identity once again.
Challenge Questions
You will then be presented with challenge security questions from a predetermined list selected by Sierra Pacific. The list above depicts sample questions. When you have successfully answered 2 of 4 questions, you will be allowed to eSign. *** NOTE: Sierra Pacific only offers two chances to answer correctly. ***
Unsuccessful Authentication If you fail to successfully authenticate on both attempts, you will be presented with a message prompting you to contact your Loan Officer. You will need to wait for further instructions. Your Loan Officer will work with internal staff to have your envelope mailed to you for traditional signing.
Survey Upon completing the authentication process for the first time, you will be prompted to answer a 2-‐question survey to provide feedback on the authentication process.
