Reliance Standard Overtime Lawsuit - Claims Examiner Denied Overtime

All individuals employed by Defendant as Claims Examination Employees over the last three years who were paid a salary and classified as exempt from overtime (“Collective Action Members”).

The Reliance Standard Overtime Lawsuit was filed in the Northern District of Illinois. Plaintiffs in the case allege that Reliance Standard misclassified them as exempt and denied them overtime in violation of federal overtime law. Plaintiffs and other Claims Examiners that file consent forms in the case seek double the amount of unpaid overtime accrued in the last three years. The case was filed as a collective, rather than as a class, action lawsuit. This means eligible individuals must file consent forms in the case to participate in the litigation and any potential settlement of the action.
