Project Type: Internship Project Location : Mysuru,Karnataka Year of Deisgning : 2024

This project depict a modern student residence designed to offer both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The building’s facade is characterized by clean lines, large windows, and angular balconies, promoting openness and connection to the outside.

A central lattice structure enhances the building’s visual appeal while also allowing for natural ventilation and light diffusion.

The surrounding landscape is carefully planned, featuring paved walkways, seating areas, and lush greenery, creating an inviting atmosphere for socializing and relaxation. Inside, spacious and light-filled common areas are designed to encourage student interaction and comfort. The overall design focuses on creating a vibrant and communal living environment tailored to students’ needs.

Please note that certain portions of this project involved teamwork, and one or more personnel contributed to its development. The work presented here represents my specific role and contributions within the collaborative effort. However the 3D and visualization of this project was comepletely my involvement in this project.

STUDENT RESIDENCE INTRODUCTION This student residence embodies the fusion of modern design principles and functional living spaces, creating an environment tailored to both individual privacy and community interaction. The building stands as a contemporary solution to student accommodation, addressing the key needs of comfort, security, and social engagement.

The façade of the residence features a clean, minimalist aesthetic, utilizing a neutral colour palette and simple geometric forms. The central section of the building is marked by a prominent perforated screen, which serves both an aesthetic and practical purpose. This element creates a dynamic visual identity for the building while providing shading and ventilation to the inner spaces. The symmetry of the side wings, with their neatly aligned balconies and windows, adds to the building’s orderly and balanced appearance.

Upon entering the building, residents are greeted by an open-plan ground floor that serves as a social hub. Designed with communal interaction in mind, this space includes seating areas, recreational amenities like a table tennis table, and large windows that flood the area with natural light. The interior design combines cool tones with warm wooden accents, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages relaxation and conversation.

The heart of the building is the central atrium, a multi-story space that visually connects different levels of the residence. Curved railings soften the vertical lines of the atrium, while skylights allow light to filter down, brightening the core of the building throughout the day. This central void not only enhances the spatial experience but also facilitates natural ventilation and improves energy efficiency.

INTERIOR & COMMON AREAS

Inside, the design continues the modern and open theme. The ground-floor communal area is spacious, filled with natural light streaming through large windows. The use of neutral color tones and sleek materials enhances the sense of openness and simplicity. Furniture arrangements in the communal lounge areas promote interaction among students, while also offering areas for relaxation. The double-height space with Organic cutouts in the ceiling provides a sense of grandeur and creates visual connectivity between the floors. The open area design invites residents to enjoy various indoor activities, from table tennis to lounging, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

TOWNSHIP FOR THE ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION UD

URBAN DESIGN

Project Type: Academic Project (URBAN) Site Area: 4 Acres Location : Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Year of Deisgning : 2023

This project was a thoughtfully designed Township for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), spanning 4 acres. The project blends affordable housing with essential community services and green spaces, creating a self-sustaining urban environment. The design incorporates 1 BHK and 2 BHK housing units, along with public amenities such as a school block, skill development center, and recreational features like an artificial lake and lake viewpoint.

Focused on sustainability, accessibility, and community-building, the township fosters a sense of belonging and encourages social interaction. Its layout optimizes space while ensuring environmental balance, making it a model for inclusive and dignified living for EWS. This project reflects a commitment to creating a livable, integrated, and sustainable community .

Softwares Used

TOWNSHIP FOR E.W.S. The main idea behind developping this township is to blends modern aesthetics with natural elements, creating a balanced and sustainable living environment. Set around a prominent central water feature, the design emphasizes the harmony between architecture and landscape, ensuring a seamless connection between built spaces and nature.

The buildings, with their minimalist forms and muted colour palette, provide a clean and sophisticated backdrop to the vibrant landscape.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES 1 Sustainability and Green Spaces A key aspect of the design is the emphasis on greenery and open spaces, which enhance the livability of the community. The artificial lake likely serves as both a recreational feature and a water management tool, contributing to sustainability. Green belts encircling the residential blocks help maintain the microclimate

5 Safety and Security With distinct zones for residential, public, and recreational activities, the township ensures that there is a clear division between private and public spaces, which is essential for maintaining security. The compact design of the housing clusters ensures passive surveillance, enhancing the overall safety of the environment.

2 Community Integration The layout is designed to foster a sense of community through shared spaces like the lake view point, school block, and skill development center. These spaces promote interaction and support community-building activities, which are vital for the social well-being of residents in economically weaker sections.

3 Connectivity and Accessibility The road networks within the township are designed to ensure smooth vehicular and pedestrian circulation. The layout supports connectivity through well-planned internal roads, which ensure easy access to different areas of the township, while ensuring that vehicular traffic does not disturb the core residential areas.

4 Efficient Land Utilization The design maximizes the use of available land by integrating different housing types and public amenities in a way that ensures sufficient space for green areas, parking, and institutional facilities. The close-knit layout of residential blocks optimizes land use while ensuring that each housing zone has access to community spaces and services.

LANDSCAPING & NATURAL ELEMENTS One of the key elements of the design is the integration of nature. Trees are planted in the landscaped open spaces surrounding the water body and pedestrian paths.

The water feature serves not only as an aesthetic element but also provides a cooling effect, improving the microclimate within the complex. The arrangement of greenery creates a natural buffer between the built environment and pedestrian spaces.

PUBLIC SPACES & CONNECTIVITY The walkways and open spaces surrounding the water feature encourage outdoor activities, fostering a sense of community. The lighting poles along the pathways suggest that these areas are usable at night, increasing the functionality of the public spaces.

The wide pavements and low-rise buildings create a human-scale environment, making the site feel inviting and accessible.

1BHK HOUSING UNITS The 1BHK Housing Units comprises a of total 32 units with 8 Units in each floor with a total of 4 floors. Each floor is again subdivided into wings on the left and right sides.

Each wings have 4 units in total and they are located on the left and right sides. That is connected by the staircase in the centre.

The 1BHK Housing units boast a simple and symmetric design that is clean and minimal.

Each Unt comprises of a Separate Balcony and an Open Kitchen. There are a Total 2 block of 1BHK Housing Blocks in the entire township which accounts for a total of 64 1BHK Units

MIXED HOUSIG UNITS The Mixed Housing Units comprise a of total 12 units with 4 Units on each floor with a total of 3 floors. Out of which 6 of them are 1 BHK Unit and the remaining 6 are 2 BHK Units having 2 BHK and two BHK each respectively.

The Mixed Housing units follow a simple design that is clean and minimal. Each Unt comprises a Separate Balcony and Open Kitchen, the same as all the other blocks. There is only 1 Mixed Housing Block in the entire township.

SCHOOL BLOCK The School block is located in the Center of the master plan between the Residential area and the Skill development centre.

At the core of the design is an open, central courtyard surrounded by a colonnade, which serves as a multifunctional space for interaction, relaxation, and reflection. This courtyard, open to the sky, invites natural light into the heart of the building, encouraging a dynamic connection between indoor and outdoor environments. The circular form emphasizes inclusivity, where all spaces have equal prominence, promoting balance and interaction within the architectural framework

SKILL DEVELOPMENT BLOCK The Skill Development Center was basically designed keeping in mind the women and unemployed people in the township where they can use this space for training to learn skills which they can use to make a profitable craft which they can sell in the local market and earn money and use it for the income.

It is basically used for educational cum commercial purposes. It is located right next to the school block helping them to keep an eye on their children.

Site Layout and Organization The site is organized with residential buildings arranged symmetrically around a central artificially created lake, which acts as a focal point in the development and the school is located in the centre of the masterplan and the skill development block on the other side. The buildings are set back, with ample open space and landscaped areas between them. The pathways are well-defined, encouraging pedestrian movement along the water body and connecting different parts of the complexes.

BEAUTIFICATION FOR ELCITA WIPRO JUNCTION UD

URBAN DESIGN

Project Type: Internship Project Location : Bengaluru, Karnataka Year of Deisgning : 2024

The Wipro Junction in Electronic City was a project that I did while I was doing my Internship at YV Architects. It was a project where I assisted in the design of the fountain, the renderings of the junction, and the sections.

The Wipro Junction is a significant intersection where Neeladri Road, Shikaripalya Main Road, and Wipro Avenue meet. As a measure to regulate traffic flow and circulation of passing Vehicles and traffic from the Bus and Auto Stands, the design of Traffic Islands has been proposed.

Introduction: L The Wipro Junction in Electronic City is a significant intersection where Neeladri Road, Shikaripalya Main Road, and Wipro Avenue meet. As a measure to regulate traffic flow and circulation of passing Vehicles and traffic from the Bus and Auto Stands, design of Traffic Islands has E U N been proposed.

V E Design Elements: The junction includes a combination of landscape, sculpture and geometry that will create intrigue while remaining subtle enough to not cause distractions. Improvements have been made in the design of Signage and the Junction has been brought to the Standards of Public Use

Pedestrian Safety: The design of the junction includes railings and green barriers along the edges of kerbs, strategically incorporated to ensure safety and guidance for pedestrians. Universal accessibility has been maintained through the use of Tactile Pavers, Dropped Kerb and Raised Crossings, W I P R O wherever relevant, to ensure inclusivity for all users. In specific areas, the S size and form of the kerbs have been altered to integrate pedesC A M P U trian comfort and ease of traffic flow, creating a pedestrian-friendly environment while maintaining efficient traffic movement.

Conclusion: The proposed roundabout design for the Wipro junction aims to facilitate smoother circulation through the intersection while improving the overall appearance and safety of the area. By following standard designs and dimensions, the roundabout will provide freeflowing traffic and safe pedestrian pathways. The introduction of the modernistic fountain and backlit sign boards will enhance the aesthetic appeal of the intersection. The proposed design is a significant improvement over the current design, making it an ideal solution to the existing issues S

Thsi project is a harmonious blend of modernism and urban landscape, centered around an artificially created lake. The design features a striking combination of geometric forms and materials that create a bold yet elegant presence along the water’s edge. The focal point of the project is a multi-tiered glass tower with a distinctive stepped profile, offering a dynamic visual form that reduces the building’s mass as it ascends. This design decision not only enhances its skyline presence but also fosters a sense of openness and airiness, creating opportunities for terraces and communal outdoor spaces.

Public spaces play a vital role in the design, with wide pedestrian pathways, open plazas, and an amphitheater-like stepped seating area that invites community interaction and outdoor events. These elements ensure a lively, inclusive urban atmosphere while maintaining clear sightlines to the waterfront, blending the public and private realms.

BUSINESS COMPLEX The Business Complex is a modern, multi-story structure designed to embody functionality, and aesthetic harmony with its surroundings. The building’s fluid form and use of contemporary materials reflect an advanced approach to urban architecture, where form and function are balanced with a strong emphasis on the environment and user experience. The design features a stepped, terraced structure, providing an interaction and gathering among the employees using that space for relaxing. The use of expansive glass façades allows for visual transparency and connects the internal spaces to the external environment. This choice of material not only enhances natural lighting reflecting the surrounding sky and scenery.

At the base, the building opens into a spacious public plaza lined with palm trees and modern lighting elements, which serve to enhance the pedestrian experience. This interaction between the building and the public realm demonstrates a commitment to creating spaces that foster community engagement while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic.

Large windows allow natural light to fill the space, enhancing the room’s warmth.

The sleek materials—wood, metal, and glass maintain a quiet, comfortable atmosphere. This design prioritizes both productivity and aesthetic appeal, creating a sophisticated yet inviting workspace.
