On Monday, 6th October 1969, in the bustling island of Nassau, New Providence, a healthy bouncing baby boy was born to the parentage of Mabel and Clifton Rolle at the Princess Margaret Hospital. Having previously delivered three (3) sets of twins consecutively, Mabel was relieved that this baby came solo, and he would be the last of ten (10) children.
“Brian”, “Big-O”, “Biggy”, as he was affectionately called, was a man whose physical stature belied the humble spirit he possessed. Byran was barely 1-year-old when his father passed away, leaving his mother to take on the role of both father and mother to her ten children. He grew up surrounded by the love and attention showered on him by his siblings. He was confident that no matter the situation in life, his faith in God, and the support and love of family will always be that driving force to persevere. Byran was not one to have a lot of friends; his ‘zone’ was in being surrounded, and having access to audio and visual technologies. Always with a warm contagious smile, and a positive attitude, Byran never let anything damper his demeanour. His life reflected the truth that “a merry heart doeth good like medicine.”
After graduating from R.M. Bailey Senior High school in 1987, Byran was gainfully employed as a Security Officer with Migrafill Security Services. In 1990, he was called to serve on a higher platform as an officer of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, a profession in which he served his country with dignity and excellence. Most of his professional career was spent stationed on various Family Islands where he was deployed for over twenty (20) years: Andros, Exuma and Acklins.
During the prime of his life, Byran underwent a facial surgery to remove a small lump from his neck. Unfortunately, following the surgery, the wound was not healing. Byran later sought additional consultation which warranted another surgery. He went to the United States for an assessment where it was discovered that he had Nasopharyngeal Sarcoma. After a series of Radiation and Chemotherapy was performed and completed, other complications developed and Byran’s health began to decline. Despite the rough path of his sojourn, Byran never once complained throughout this period in his life. He relied on the strength and endurance that came from his Creator. Whenever he was asked how he was feeling, despite his physical ill health, he would always answer with a strong voice, “I am well, and doing fine!”
After developing a bone infection to the face in 2017, Byran agreed to have surgery to remove the damaged bone at a U.S facility. Many days leading up to the surgery, Byran spoke with anticipation and excitement of complete healing to his body. “God said this is the final surgery, and after this surgery, I will be a new man. God promised me a new, healed, body!”
After undergoing a final surgery on July 24th 2018, Byran was airlifted back to Nassau where he was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital on September 26th 2018. His family members had planned to spend a full day to celebrate Byran‘s birthday with him on Saturday October 6th; but his creator and manufacturer had a different plan. What better time to present the gift of healing, then on his birthday. “God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able

to bear.” At 3:32 a.m, Saturday October 6th, 2018, Byran was called from this world, into eternity. “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.” Romans 14:8

Invocation | Police Chaplin
Prayer response | Simple Trusting
Simply trusting every day, trusting through a stormy way, even when my faith is small, trusting Jesus, that is all.
(Chorus)
Trusting as the moments fly, trusting as the days go by, trusting him whate’er befall, trusting Jesus, that is all.

Trusting him while life shall last, trusting him till earth be past, till within the jasper wall, trusting Jesus, that is all.

Opening hymn | He’ll Take Me Through
I’m a glad pilgrim on my way going to the glory land
Jesus my only hope and stay holdeth me by the hand
It is such joy to understand things that I never knew
Keeping my promise to the Lord I’m going through
Chorus
I’m His, what a wonderful feeling in my soul
He’s mine, He’s protecting me from the heat and cold I’ll do whatsoever He bids me I will do I know my redeemer will lead me safely through.
Walking with Jesus all the way singing a happy song
Matters not if it’s night or day nothing can lead me wrong
Feeling His presence ever near why should I weep or sigh
Knowing I have a home in glory by and by.
Fully believing trusting God, giving Him all the praise
Leading me from the paths I trod ever my voice I’ll raise He will be with me to the end comforting with His power
And He will be my closest friend in death’s dark hour.

Hymn | I’ll Make It Somehow
Give me courage and strength each day
For I’m holding thy hand
Determined to stand
And by thy grace
I know I’ll make it
Make it some how
(Chorus)
Yes I’ll
Make it some how, make it some how
I’ll make it some how, make it some how
I’ll carry the cross, carry the cross, carry the cross all the way
And if I stumble or fall, stumble or fall
Jesus hears my call, hears my feeble call
And by His matchless grace, by His matchless grace, Yes I’ll make it some how

I know not now, what tomorrow may bring
May be trouble, disaster or pain
But I’ll trust in the Lord
Believing in His word
For by His grace, I know I’ll make it,
Make it some how
Some times, the way is hard, and long
And life’s sorrows, I can’t under --- stand
But I’ll tell Him in prayer
He’s willing to share
And by His grace, I know I’ll make it
Make it some how

There was a time I traveled
A lonely sinful road
Beneath a heavy burden bending low
But now all things are different
For Jesus took my load
It’s alright now I’m His I know
(Chorus)
It’s alright now
For I am in my Savior’s care
It’s alright now
My Savior hears and answers prayer
He’ll walk beside me
‘Til I climb the heav’nly stair
And ev’rything is alright now

A-down a lonely pathway
Without a friend to guide
I walked in sin and sorrow all alone
‘Til Jesus came and found me
And drew me to His side
It’s alright now for I’m His own
No more in sin I wander
No more in darkness roam
The Lord has placed
My feet on higher ground
Each day new heights I’m gaining
My soul is nearing home
It’s alright now I’m heaven bound
Glad Reunion Day
There will be a happy meeting in Heaven, I know
When we see the many loved ones we’ve known here below
Gathered on that blessed hilltop with hearts all aglow
That will be a glad reunion day.
(Chorus)
A glad day, a wonderful day,
A glad day, a glorious day
There with all the holy angels and loved ones to stay
That will be a glad reunion day.
When we live a million years in that wonderful place
Basking in the love of Jesus, beholding His face
It will seem but just a moment of praising His grace
That will be a glad reunion day.
A glad day, a wonderful day,
A glad day, a glorious day
There with all the holy angels and loved ones to stay
That will be a glad reunion day.

My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone
Along a path that’s always winding upward
This troubled world is not my final home
(Chorus)
But until then my heart will go on singing
Until then with joy I’ll carry on
Until the day my eyes behold that city
Until the day God calls me home
The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they’re borrowed for awhile
And things of earth that cause this heart to tremble
Remembered there will only bring a smile
So, until then my heart will go on singing
Until then with joy I’ll carry on
Until the day my eyes behold that city
Until the day God calls me home
Until the day my eyes behold that city
Until the day God calls me home

There’s a line that is drawn through the ages
On that line stands an old rugged cross
On that cross, a battle is raging
To gain a man’s soul or it’s loss
(Chorus)
It is finished, the battle is over
It is finished, there’ll be no more war
It is finished, the end of the conflict
It is finished and Jesus is Lord
On one side, march the forces of evil
All the demons, all the devils of hell
On the other, the angels of glory
And they meet on Golgotha’s hill
The earth shakes with the force of the conflict
And the sun refuses to shine
For there hangs God’s son, in the balance
And then through the darkness he cries
A Man of few words but very wise
When he opens his mouth, Oh what a surprise. He fought in this life and gave it his best shot
Why are you surprised?…..Remember, he is a cop
He looked at the enemy dead in the face and said, “Watch out enemy! Here is God’s Amazing Grace.”
A smile he always wore on his face, and his humor
None can replace.
“Hey dude, how are you? Look at me, I am doing wonderful and fine. Don’t you know Jesus is mine?”
You demonstrated the character of your Heavenly Father
Self-less, pure and generous.
Oh Guy, You will be missed.
Because your name is inscribed in the Hall of Faith as an Undefeated Champion of Faith.
I’m proud to have known a guy like you.
R. I. H., You will be missed, sleep on and take your rest.
I LOVE YOU MORE BUT GOD KNOWS WHAT’S BEST
P.S. – I Love You to INFINITY and BEYOND…… I LOVE YOU DeVaughn

We, the family of the late Byron Rolle, would like to express our humble gratitude and sincere thanks to all who, in one way or another, provided us with support in this time of bereavement. Our sorrow is easier to bear with help from God and friends like you. Your thoughts, prayers and especially your presence have been a source of strength to us and for this we thank you. Though we still mourn, our hearts swell and our spirits are lifted knowing that ‘Byron’ will forever be loved and remembered by each of you here today.
We ask that you continue to lift us up in prayer. May the good Lord bless and keep you all in His perfect peace.
