Director’s Notes
Welcome to the fabled city of Agrabah!
Our story begins with Aladdin, a clever and resourceful young man who dreams of a life beyond the dusty streets of Agrabah. He meets the spirited Princess Jasmine, who yearns for freedom from her royal constraints and the pressures of an arranged marriage. Their fateful encounter sets the stage for a tale filled with excitement and enchantment. Aladdin's life takes a dramatic turn when he discovers a magical lamp and releases the hilarious and all-powerful Genie. With the Genie’s help, Aladdin transforms into Prince Ali, hoping to win Jasmine's heart and prove his worth. Along the way, he faces the devious Jafar, the Sultan's power-hungry advisor, who has his own plans for the lamp and the kingdom.
At its core, Aladdin Jr. is a story about the transformative power of love and friendship. Aladdin’s adventures with Genie, his love for Jasmine, and his growth as a character remind us that it is our choices and our courage that define us.
From the dazzling choreography and intricate set designs to the stunning costumes and memorable music, every element of this show has been carefully crafted to transport you to a place where magic carpets fly and dreams come true. Our talented performers have poured their hearts into bringing these beloved characters to life, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
Aladdin Jr. has been an opportunity for our young performers to explore and express the themes of bravery, integrity, and the importance of being true to oneself. Through months of rehearsals, these talented individuals have not only honed their craft but have also learned valuable lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and creativity.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated production team, supportive parents, and the entire Riverview community for their unwavering support and enthusiasm.
So, sit back, relax, and let us whisk you away to the bustling streets of Agrabah. Thank you for joining us on this enchanting journey.
Enjoy the show!
With warmest regards,
Ms Alanna Elliott & Ms Elena Turunen
