Multi/core Cable termination example

1. The Earth Fault Indicator should be mounted in a place which is well visible. It can be mounted on a pole or a wall with self-threading screws or directly on an RMU. 2.

CableTroll 210 with RCT Sensor MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS Configuration and settings Connect the RCT Sensor (Rogowski coil) to terminal 11 and 12 (bi-polar connection) and the cable-screen to terminal 10 on CableTroll 210 EFI. The trip-level can be set to 1 of 6 fixed values with the DIP switches as shown in the table.

The function depends of how long the button is pressed.

1 Enabled Pressed less than 1 sec: 9 CB Trip/ Inrush blocking • Amber/Red and Green LED: Indicate battery status 0 Disabled OK. 1 Enabled • Only Amber/Red LED: Indicate battery status below 10 Not Used 20%.

Pressed between 1 sec and 5 sec: The indicator shows status of Auto Reset signal from sensor (unbalance in the cable is less than – or more than 2,5A) • Auto Reset from sensor Inactive (<2,5A): Fault LED flashes rapidly in burst • Auto Reset from sensor Active(>2,5A): Fault LED illuminates constant.

Pressed longer than 5 sec: Simulate a fault indication with both relays closed for 15 min.

SCADA reset and Manual reset is possible in the 15s test period.

Auto Reset (230 VAC- or Sensor-Reset) not possible during the test.

The green LED flashes once each time the TEST button function changes.

RESET: When the EFI is in indication mode after a fault, pressing the Test/Reset button will reset the indication and EFI will go back to idle mode.

Cable Entry/Connecting the Cables Strip 10-15 cm off the outer insulation of the cable. Enter the cable in to the EFI housing as shown on the picture.

Fold the two stripped cables back and then fold over to the upper side of the electronics board and connect to the respective terminals.

The screen must also be connected.

When the cable is entered into the EFI housing, make sure that the cable is not pushed against or touching any of the components on the underside of the electronics board as this may damage the components.

The Rogowski coil is fastened to the cable with cable-ties as shown on the picture above.

Important Notes 1: External SCADA reset connection is polarized.

2: The 230VAC and the cable from the RTC Sensor should enter the EFI through two different PG nipples to reduce any influence from the 230VAC on the sensor input circuitry 3: DIP-switch 8 (Auto reset) and DIP-switch 9 (CB trip) are independent and can be set individually. If DIP-switch 8 are enabled (ON), make sure there is a minimum of 2,5A imbalance in the cable. If not, use the 230VAC as Auto Reset source.
