SAVE THE DATE FOR LES MIS! Since Summer, rehearsals have been underway for the Sibford School production of Les Misérables, the popular West End musical based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo, set during French Revolution.

DON'T FORGET!

Directed by Neil Madden and a fantastic team of teachers including Fiona Hudson as the Musical Director, Cate Mallalieu-Needle as the assistant Director and Rachel Bee as assistant MD; it promises to be a great show Tickets will be available online from January, with performances taking place on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th March 2020.

RECENT SPORTING SUCCESS Rugby The rugby season has proved to be very successful this season. It culminated last week with both the Year 7 and Year 10 boys teams winning their respective finals. The Year 7’s beat a strong Warriner side who they had drawn with in the group stages. An outstanding performance from Nicholas and strong team defence helped secure the victory. The Year 10 game was a repeat of last year's final, both in terms of opposition and outcome. A hat trick from Silas and some outstanding ball carrying from Mila and Serge ensured the lads got the job done.

In addition to some outstanding team success we've had a number of individual achievements, with Joe W, Joe H, Tane and Bobby B making the Under 16 county team. At under 15 level both Oli and Serge made the cut.

X-Country Last Wednesday over 40 Sibford Pupils went to Warriner School to compete in the North Oxfordshire Finals. All pupils did the school proud and pushed themselves beyond their limits to get the best set of results the school has ever produced.

Special mention to Tom (Y7), Isla (Y7) and Louis (Y10) who all become district champions, Tilly (Y9) and Katie (Y12) who came second place. All these pupils have qualified for school games including the Year 7 girls team, Year 8/9 boys and girls team and also the Year 10/11 boys and girls team.

Well done to all that competed!

Congratulations to the 5 pupils pictured who have been selected by the Regional Prep School's Lions development squad. All pupils were selected in a strong field of competition against 150 - 250 other pupils. These boys have been selected to represent the Lions at the Gothia Cup in Sweden in July 2020.

ANNUAL HEDGE PLANTING On Tuesday, the sun was shining as our Year 7's helped with some hedge planting, an annual Sibford School tradition now in its 25th year.

With the help of our Sixth Form Countryside Management students, our Year 7's successfully planted 75 Yew and Beech hedge plants across the school grounds. We can't wait to watch them grow!

THE SIBFORD BOARDING BULLETIN! We have been blessed with beautiful, bright winter weather on campus this week and the boarders have continued to enjoy the festive programme we have on offer for them.

The boarders were out in force for the Christmas Fayre last week, whether they were helping to sell reusable water bottles or leading the Young Enterprise stalls or even just getting involved in the shopping and festive cheer, it was a great way to start the weekend.

Our full boarders had an enjoyable day out in Milton Keynes at the weekend before relaxing in the boarding house with their pick from a selection of festive films.

The weekday activities programme continues to be a success with boarders having a fun evening out at the retail park on Monday, creating some impressive and quite professional looking advent calendars on Tuesday, and having a cosy night in making milkshakes and watching festive films by our fabulous Christmas tree on Thursday.

The first 3 occasional boarding bookings will receive a 50% discount on their first night! If your child is staying for a sports fixture or school trip they receive 50% discount on the occasional boarding fee.

SFL PARENT CONVERSATIONS The SfL department is making a change in the spring term. We will no longer be hosting the SfL parent conversation afternoons. We will continue to offer SfL parents/carers the opportunity for a meeting with their child’s SFL teacher but this will be available throughout the week at a time that suits the parent/carer and the teacher.
