FSC TM – An important service
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSCTM) is an independent, nongovernmental organisation dedicated to the ethical and responsible management of the world's forests.
FSCTM is the most trusted organisation when it comes to safeguarding essential environmental and social standards in the world's forests. With globally recognised standards, unparalleled integration of all relevant interest groups and the support of big-name companies as well as highly respected environmental and social organisations, the FSCTM is widely regarded as the most credible solution for sustainable forestry management. The certificates are issued by independent third parties and are verified annually. Around the world, some 200 million hectares of forestry are FSCTM-certified.

For several years we have been working towards reducing our environmental footprint without compromising on product quality.
We take responsibility and act in a way that is sustainable and that preserves our natural resources.
We have been successfully FSCTM certified since 2021 (licence number: FSCTM C168085). The validity of our FSCTM Multisite certificate covers all sites in Europe and North America.
The responsible management of forests is a subject close to our hearts, which is why we are one of the world's first abrasive manufacturers to use exclusively FSCTM-certified paper for our wood-based abrasive products (paper backings).
By procuring raw materials that meet FSCTM standards, sia Abrasives is taking another important step and making a valuable contribution to future generations.
What are the aims of the FSCTM?
The FSCTM's aim is to pave the way to better forestry management the world over.
FSCTM considers itself a platform where representatives with different interests in forestry can come together and forge a consensus about responsible forestry management.
This consensus provides the foundation from which to develop management standards and derive marketing mechanisms for forestry products created by these standards.

Labelling of the abrasive products
We are committed to using only FSCTM-Mix certified raw materials in the manufacture of flexible abrasives on paper backing at the Frauenfeld facility.
We only use products from FSCTM-certified and controlled sources for our paper backing.
The certified abrasive products can be clearly identified by an FSCTM label and corresponding licence number on the reverse of the abrasive. The licence number is: C168085
