Spring Hill VS. Marvell The Bears hosted Marvell-Elaine Mustangs here at Bear’s home turf. The Bears were looking for a win after a loss the week before at Mt. Pine. With the energy from the home crowd, that is what they did. The Mustangs had to push the game back due to a blown tire which caused the game to start around 7:45 pm instead of 7pm. With turnovers from the Mustangs and a strong running game from the Bears, the game was a short one for High School football. The game was called at 9:00 pm with the mercy rule being enacted. Final score was 42-12 which made the Bears 6-2 overall with a conference win 4-1. The Bears will be hosting the Strong Bulldogs tonight. -The school’s favorite fall food is pumpkin pie. -Fall reminds us of deer hunting, pumpkin carving, and haunted houses. -Survey says our favorite pie flavor is apple. -Class vote says Fall is for cozy weather not spooky season. -Most students enjoy carving pumpkins.
Truck Of The Hill
This week we have Corbin Overton's red Chevy for our Truck of the Hill. He riding on a 3 inch body lift and 33 inch tires with stock rims. It will go through anything you put in front of it.

Principal’s Corner:
We have had an awesome first nine weeks of school. PAWS was a huge success and I am so proud of our student body for showing up to that event. Also, I am very proud of our students in FCA for leading that event. PT Conferences went well and we appreciate all our parents for coming and visiting with us and investing in their child's education. We are looking forward to finishing this semester strong. It's so great being a Spring Hill Bear!
Spring Hills boys golf team finished 3rd in the 2A State Golf Tournament at Eagle Mountain October 4th. Chris Hernandez and Connor Foster were named Honorable Mention ALLSTATE. The Spring Hill girls golf team also attende the state tournament at Glenwood on September 26th. Baili Butler shot a 97 and was selected ALL-STATE. Congratulations to the Bears golf teams!

New To The Crew
Mrs. Brittany Kizer is our newest 7th and 8th grade science teacher. She came here from Blevins school district. She came to Spring Hill because of the high standards of success we hold. Her favorite memory of Spring Hill is being so welcomed by our school district. What she misses about her old school is basketball season starting earlier in the year. They had their school already for the games. Let’s welcome Mrs. Kizer into the Spring Hill family!

Bear Spotlight On October 3rd, Levin McGuire was named SWARK’s Football Athlete of the Week as well as Reese Tarver. On October 9th, Aaryn Bradford was named SWARK’s Player of the Week.

In The Spotlight staff
Trudy VanNorman Mrs. VanNorman has been teaching at Spring Hill for six years now. Mrs. VanNorman teaches all the FCS courses and key code. She doesn’t have a favorite memory as she has made so many here at Spring Hill and each days she’s blessed with a new memory. Mrs. VanNorman loves all her students but she’s favorite class to teach is Dynamics of Human Relationships.
Writers Block
Kaegan Burke Kaegan Burke has been in journalism for 3 years, her role is the What's Poppin and she sometimes does more! She chose journalism because she likes to know what the school thinks or likes better and that the school should know where the kids stand and what they like. Kaegan's favorite part about doing What's Popping is learning new stuff about the people at SpringHill. Kaegan is now thinking in the future she might even choose a job that includes journalism. Kaegan has learned how to think out of the box a lot more and she also thinks journalism has taught her how to take something so little and turn it into something good. She plans on taking journalism next year and she would not change her role next year, Kaegan loves doing What's Popping and she would not change a thing. Outside of school Kaegan does many roles and loves to hang out with her friends and family.

Kolby Brown has been attending Spring Hill for 6 years. Kolby’s goal for this year is to pass Lew’s class. Kolby is going to miss his friends at Spring Hill. Kolby plans to go to college and is fixing four-wheelers side by side. Kolby plans to become a land surveyor in the future. Kolby’s favorite memory is when he and Brooks got in trouble because he threw a book at Brooks’s head and it knocked him out.

Reynlee Brown is a senior at Spring Hill High School. After graduation, Reynlee plans on going to UAHT for one year and then transferring to a PTA program. Her goals for this year are to make tons of memories and start getting ready for college. Reynlee plans on becoming a Physical Therapist assistant. The thing she will miss the most about Spring Hill is cheering on Friday nights and being a part of this community. Her advice for the underclassmen is to “ Go to every game, dress up for spirit week, laugh and smile, and don't overload yourself with school work.” She has attended Spring Hill for about 8 years now she moved here in her 4th grade year when her mom started teaching here. Her extracurricular activities include Varsity Cheer, Beta, NHS, NEHS, and FCA. Reynlee’s favorite memory here at the Hill is her sophomore year when we played against Woodlawn and watched our boys win with just a few seconds left of the game.

Elementary Mrs. VanNorman’s 4th period class took their time to teach lessons to the elementary classes. Maddie Hooks and Kelsi Korenek visited the 6th grade classes with a lesson over what to expect and prepare for in high school. Ryleigh Kretz visited Mrs. Kidd’s class giving them a lesson over healthy eating habits.
Pre-K Pre-K is busy learning new skills which will help them as they continue their schooling. Check back for the next paper to see them in their costumes and see what they have been up to!

h T e d T n o u w o r n A ‘A Taste of Hope’ is a fundraiser event for the ‘Hope Downtown Network.’ The event took place on Oct 7 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. The fundraiser event supported the price tags of $40 for access day of the event, $30 per adult ticket and $10 for children below 12 years of age. The event had plenty of things to do, like checking out the various restaurants, taking a nice stroll around the town, watching the style show, bidding during auctions and taking part in the revitalization of Hope.

Movie Review The Conjuring was a great movie. If you are wanting to watch a good scary movie with alot of jump scares, then that is the one. Watching movies with your friends is always fun. I would say watching the movie at night gives you a better experience.
Sleepy Hollow Set in 1799 a movie directed by Tim Burton starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci is based on Washinngton Irving’s “Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” This film displays horror and romance. Ichabod Crane is sent to investigate the town Sleepy Hollow because of the decapitations of three people. While falling in love with the mayor's daughter Katrina he uncovers the dark being that terrorizes the town.
