CLUB BIO

Shrewsbury Town Women FC became an independent entity in Summer 2023. It was previously Shrewsbury Town Women Foundation (under the charity arm of the club).

Achievements:

2021-22: Invincible season and promotion from Tier 6 to Tier 5

2022-23: Cup double winners (County Cup and League Cup).

2023-24: County Cup winners.

2024-25: League Cup winners and historic FA Cup run

BEHIND THE BADGE

Home Kit Colours: Blue and Amber

Captain Profile: Alice Raby joined us from Sporting Khalsa for the 2024/25 season, where she received the manager's player award. She stepped up to captain this season, and is a consistent and formidable presence at the back.

Key Player: Abbie Lutton is from Brisbane, Australia, and joined us this season whilst under the Sunshine Coast Fire FC Academy programme. With Abbie's versatility, unshakeable calm nature, work ethic, and skill she has proven to be a key player all season.

Coaching Staff: Darel Tidman-Poole (manager), Alex Brito Nogueira, Ryan Watson, Dave Belcher.

CLUB BIO

Formed in 2017, AFC Telford United Ladies started out in the Birmingham County League Division 1. Building a team from scratch utilising a large number of players from our Youth Setup, former Shrewsbury Town manager Sean Evans guided the side to the league title with a 100% record. Conceding just 6 goals throughout the season and scoring over 150, the impressive record helped the side secure a double promotion. The 18/19 season started in the West Mids Regional League North where 4 games in manager Evans left and was replaced by player coach Darel Tidman Poole. It was a season of consolidation as they finished 4th. Two seasons then followed both cut short due to COVID with the side well placed before both breaks.The 24/25 season started under new management with Alex Owens as Head Coach Sean Evans stepped down following a second place finish in the league and runners up in the Tom Farmer Shropshire Cup. At the end of the 2025/26 season, Jemma Smith was named manager for the upcoming season. Jem will carry on playing and will play a vital role in the growth of Telford United Women.

Captain Profile: Holly Nicholson has been the Women's captain for many seasons and another player who has notched up over 100+ appearances for the club.

Key Player: Liv Bellamy, brings experience and composure for the team. Liv plays along the right side either as a full back or on the wing.

Coaching Staff: Jemma Smith, Alex Owens, Mick Hill, Tom Lauder, Todd Green.

First and foremost, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the Croud Meadow

It is a pleasure to welcome the players, along with today’s match officials and supporters, as we come together to celebrate the fantastic achievement of reaching this cup final.

A special thank you must go to our match officials. Their appointments to today’s final are a testament to their dedication, professionalism and hard work throughout the season.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all clubs and leagues for their continued support during the 2025/26 season. Your contribution plays a vital role in the ongoing growth and success of grassroots football across Shropshire.

Finally, I would like to recognise the staff and volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes. Their efforts ensure the smooth running of our competitions and the successful organisation of occasions such as today.

I would like to wish both teams the very best of luck. Regardless of the result, today represents a wonderful celebration of football and a fitting way to conclude the 2025/26 campaign.
