Shrewsbury Up & Comers Football Club is a 3 star accredited Chartered Standard Development Club and was established in 1973 as a grassroots football club offering children and now adults in the local area an opportunity to play football.
50 years of supporting our local community, the Club continues to offer grassroots football for both boys and girls from the age of 4. Alongside our creche (age 4 to 7) and our junior team setup, we have recently completed the grassroots pathway and offer open age football for both male and female As it stands currently, we have 657 registered players at the Club over 46 teams. In November of last year the club were proud winners of the Kings Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award that a volunteer group can obtain. This is testament to the hard work of all of our volunteers.
U17 Hawks is run by Joint managers , Darren Brookfield and Darren Evason, Darren Brookfield has been running the team since it started at U8s and Darren evason since U11s,
Quote from Darren Brookfield 'We feel we have a great team of players and they have all played their part in making the team successful over the last two years with us playing in the Telford league U16B last season and presently the Salop Leisure League U17/U18s Salopian League. Winning both age groups and remaining unbeaten in the process, is for us as managers, a fantastic achievement in competitive football.
