The Creche was established in 2018 and has continued to grow from strength to strength, developing into one of the club’s most successful sides. Early progress was rewarded in 2021 as the team secured the Charity Cup, marking a significant milestone in their development.

The same year also saw the squad represent the club on a larger stage, competing in the prestigious International Cup at St George’s Park. This opportunity was repeated in 2022 and 2023, with the team consistently performing at a high level and reaching the knockout stages on each occasion, an achievement that reflects both their quality and consistency.

The 2024/25 season stands as the most successful in the team’s history to date. Demonstrating exceptional teamwork, resilience and determination throughout the campaign, they completed a remarkable treble-winning season, underlining their continued progress and ambition for future success.

Home Kit Colours: Red & Black.

Captain Profile: Toby James a dynamic presence in the heart of midfield, Toby leads by example with his relentless energy and commitment. Strong in the tackle and never afraid to put himself about, he sets the tempo for the team both in and out of possession.

Key Player: Ryley Matthews a natural goal scorer and constant attacking threat, Ryley combines clinical finishing with an outstanding work rate for the team.

Coaching Staff: Russ Smith (Manager), Jamie Owen and Rob Pritchard.

CLUB BIO

Founded in 1977, Oswestry Boys and Girls’ Football Club has long been a cornerstone of youth football in Shropshire, providing structured opportunities for children aged 4 to 16. As a volunteer-led, FA Charter Standard club, it is dedicated to delivering highquality coaching and opportunities for around 500 local young players.

The club currently runs 26 teams, including girls-only sides alongside mixed teams, reflecting its strong commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity. In addition, a popular Creche Group introduces younger children to the game in a fun, engaging and supportive environment, helping to build confidence and a love for football from an early age.

With a proud history and a clear focus on development, Oswestry Boys and Girls’ Football Club remains a key part of the local community, continuing to nurture talent and inspire future generations.

Captain Profile: Isaac Breeze was proudly voted as Captain by his teammates at the end of the 2024/25 season. A versatile player he has been a dedicated member of the club since U7s, originally playing for the 'Warriors' team.

Key Player: We our Proud of all our players and they are all Key members to the Vikings Family.

On behalf of Managers John and Dean, as well as all the players of the OBGC Vikings, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents, guardians, friends, and family for their unwavering support throughout this season. Your dedication and encouragement mean the world to us!

Prees Club U15 Prees Predators began their journey in this season’s SFA U15 Sunday Challenge Cup with a bye in the opening round.

They made their first appearance in Round Two, where they secured a solid 2–0 victory over Highley Miners Welfare FC U15. Confidence grew from there, as they edged a thrilling Third Round encounter, overcoming AFC Bridgnorth Town U15 4–3 in a closely contested tie.

The quarter-final saw a more controlled performance, with Prees running out 4–1 winners against SAHA FC U15 Storm. They then booked their place in the final with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Nova United U15 Wolves

A mix of resilience and attacking quality has guided Prees Club to the final, where they arrive in strong form and full of belief.

CHAIRMAN’S WORDS

First and foremost, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to AFC Telford United’s Seah Stadium for the 2025/2026 SFA U15 Sunday Challenge Cup.

It is a pleasure to welcome the players of Prees Club U15 Prees Predators and Oswestry Bg Club U15 Vikings, along with today’s match officials and supporters, as we come together to celebrate the fantastic achievement of reaching this cup final.

A special thank you must go to our match officials. Their appointments to today’s final are a testament to their dedication, professionalism and hard work throughout the season.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all clubs and leagues for their continued support during the 2025/26 season. Your contribution plays a vital role in the ongoing growth and success of grassroots football across Shropshire.

Finally, I would like to recognise the staff and volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes. Their efforts ensure the smooth running of our competitions and the successful organisation of occasions such as today

I would like to wish both teams the very best of luck. Regardless of the result, today represents a wonderful celebration of football and a fitting way to conclude the 2025/26 campaign.
