Not everyone has the same opportunities when it comes to developing life skills that can help secure a job, or support career growth. England Football Learning and Chase, as the Official Banking Partner of England Football Learning, want to help change that, by harnessing the power of football to help individuals develop transferable skills that can unlock their potential, on the pitch and beyond.
Chase fully funded places have been created to provide funding opportunities for coaches who would benefit from financial support towards completing either the Introduction to Coaching Football, UEFA B Licence or UEFA A Licence.
The programme is aligned to our wider goal of helping to increase participation within the game, as well as Chase’s ongoing investment in community-based programmes. By fostering diversity and inclusion within our coaching workforce we aim to:
Increase participation: Inspiring individuals from all backgrounds

. Club History
Established in 1890 by local mining community. The club Acquired the current pitch that we still play on 2 years later (1892)
First entered the Wellington league, before joining the Shropshire county league in 1894. 1901 invited to join Birmingham League Whilst in this league beat Coventry City in the FA Cup Then joined the west midland league in 1950’s
Most successful period between 1965/1970 Won the first division on two occasions, and finished no lower than third in the other three seasons
Shortly after the club withdrew from the west midland league and continued playing in local leagues
1992 Brian Neville joined the club and built a highly successful Sunday side which was then invited 9 years later to join the west midland regional league in 2001
2001/02 the club finished in 8th position and then the following season finished 12th
From the 2003/04 season Wrockwardine wood pulled out of the west midland regional league and continued to play in the local county leagues
In 2009 the junior section then became affiliated This started with one junior team started by Tina Williams and Tom Broome, the now club secretary and chairman Following this the club grew rapidly having over 15 junior teams
In 2012/13 the club then had two adult sides playing in the Shropshire Premier League. One side in Division 1 (Reserves) and the second in Division 2 In their debut season Wrockwardine Wood won the Division 2 cup, 5-4 on penalties against Childs Ercall at the Bucks Head after the game was 1-1 in normal time.
The two teams continued to play in the Shropshire County Leagues until the 2015/16 season when the teams merged and joined as one.
Since then the adult Saturday side has played in the country premier division other than a brief stint in division 1 for the 2017/18 season
In January 2022, we sadly lost our Chairman Brian Neville to a battle with illness Brian was chairman for 30 years seeing plenty of success Saturday and Sundays, and there is many happy memories left behind
In 2022 Tom Broome then took over as chairman as well as Manager for the Saturday Adult Side, alongside Ash Newnes as assistant.
