THE BIRD STUDY GROUP The Bird Study Group is a local nonprofit specializing in the preservation, research and enjoyment of bird watching. Founded in 1954, members are active bird watchers who take field trips to study various bird species. The most common birds in Shreveport-Bossier can be found around C. Bickham Dickson Park, Red River National Wildlife Refuge, Red River, Cross Lake, Clyde Fant Parkway, and Cypress Black Bayou. Hundreds of birds migrate to the area throughout the year including:
