As the number of Zika cases climbs in Texas, the state health department is now testing for the mosquitoborne virus at its public health lab in Austin. Before, local health departments that needed to test human samples for Zika virus could send them to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. State officials said they’re preparing for increased mosquito activity that could result in local transmission of the virus, which has been linked to a birth defect. The official state count of Zika cases climbed from 14 to 18 in the span of a day. That number will go up again because paperwork is still being completed in some cases. For example, Dallas County has reported four cases, but the Texas Department of State Health Services counts only two so far. All of the patients in Texas contracted the virus while traveling abroad, except for a patient in Dallas County who may have gotten the virus through sexual activity with one of the travelers. “It’s only a matter of time before Zika virus is locally transmitted here by mosquitoes,” Dr. John Hellerstedt, commissioner of the state health department, said in a prepared statement. Zika can cause fever, rash, muscle and joint aches and red eyes. Symptoms are usually mild and last about a week. But the disease has also been linked to Guillain-Barré syndrome, which can cause temporary paralysis, and microcephaly, a birth defect that results in newborns with abnormally small heads. The more common test can detect Zika in human samples collected less than seven days after illness

begins. The state’s public health lab in Austin will be able to handle up to 135 human specimens a week, said Carrie Williams, a spokeswoman for Department of State Health Services. Some local health agencies — like the ones in Dallas and Tarrant counties — can conduct this test. But the state will also perform a more complex type of test that can identify Zika infection in people who may not show symptoms. Serologic tests can be done up to 12 weeks after a person is infected. Here are the criteria for state testing. Zika keeps popping up in the U.S. This week, Oklahoma and New Hampshireconfirmed three cases. Across the country, 153 cases — all associated to travel — have been reported, according to the CDC. The virus is spreading quickly through Latin America and the Caribbean. In Brazil, the epicenter of the epidemic, Zika is suspected of causing a spike in cases of microcephaly. Department of State Health Services will closely monitor future cases of microcephaly in Texas to look for connections to Zika, also reviewing past microcephaly cases to get a baseline of the situation here in Texas.

Everybody remembers CLASSIC Lil Kim. Back in the day she went hard on a verse and looks if you me. But all to often in the music industry the classic change into the drastic or even worse the tragic. People need to learn how to leave well enough alone. Lil Kim looks were not super star status but she was cute. Her swag helped back that up. Somewhere along the lines she started being something

totally different from who I grew up on. The major debate has been did she take a wrong turn with plastic surgery. I have to admit at first glance of old to new pictures I was very inclined to say yes. And not in a good way. We can all agree Lil Kim was a very decent looking woman when she hit the scene. Not only was there a huge change in her looks also her skin color. Like we wouldnâ€™t notice she started out a black woman and ended up damn near a white woman in the right light. My disappointment with the whole thing caused me to do a little digging for myself. Although I donâ€™t deny Lil Kim has had some work. I no longer believe she took it to face with the plastic surgery. What

I will say is make-up is one hell of a mutha. With the right application it can and will have you looking flawless. In the wrong hands it can have you looking straight clown foolish. With that being said Lil Kim may need to check her make-up artist. Some days she be having Miss Lil Kim beat to the GODS. Assaulted While Being Black Using The ATM Monday evening outside a bank on Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Jason Goolsby stood contemplating to withdraw or not to withdraw money from the bank ATM. Meanwhile a woman pushing a baby stroller approached upon him and the teen opened the door for her and her child. Eighteen year old Jason Goolsby was with two friends at the bank. While still trying to decide outside the Citibank, for about 20 seconds, near Eastern Market on Capital Hill he stood before leaving. Goolsby said, he saw D.C. police cars racing toward him, nearly being hit by one. I can only assume scared the college freshman ran. Not knowing that he and his friends we suspected in allegedly casing for a possible robbery of the ATM. He said he paused after opening the door for her because he had just learned that a scheduled studio session had been canceled, and he was thinking about whether he still needed to withdraw money. We been pretty healthy so far with injuries to Josh Hamilton and Choo. Josh is gone for the year with knee surgery but Choo will be back sooner or later. Josh aint been doing much so he wont be missed. The Knockout King, Rougned Odor, got his suspension knocked down from 8 to 7 games so he will be back soon. Another plus on the horizon is that our ace pitcher, YU DARVISH!!, is back!! Having him along with our other ace, Cole Hamels, will make our pitching dugout a BEAST!!! Hamels is pitching his ass off with a 2.83 ERA(one of the best in the league right now) and currently undefeated in games that he pitches. So LETZ GO RANGERS!!! Keep this pace but its still a long season. Over across the parking lot in Cowboys Country, many are anxious for the season to start bc of the addi-

Other pickups were mainly on defense which is good because thats where we hurt the most. Keep your eyes on Charles Tapper from Oklahoma. He is a defensive end that runs a 4.4 or better. His speed on the edge should help with pass rush if he can translate his game to the NFL which means he would be another steal. Still no real back up for Romo yet, but Dak Prescott was decent in college so if he picks up the speed of the game, he mite be nice. I can see us going deep in the playoffs but of course it comes down to injuries. Warriors and OKC is currently a nice series but i pick OKC bc of the dawgs they have on the team. One more game will close it out right now

Clay then changed his legal name from Cassius Clay, which he called his “slave name”, to Muhammad Ali, and gave a message of racial pride for African Americans and resistance to white domination during the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. Nicknamed “The Greatest”, he was involved in several historic boxing matches. At a time when most fighters let their managers do the talking, Ali thrived in—and indeed craved—the spotlight, where he was often provocative and outlandish. After retiring from boxing in 1981, Ali devoted his life to religious and charitable work. In 1984, Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s syndrome, which his doctors attributed to boxing-related brain injuries. As the condition worsened, Ali made limited public appearances and was cared for by his family until his 2016 death in Scottsdale, Arizona. January 17, 1942

Kimbo was born Kevin Ferguson, the Bahamas native and longtime Florida resident didn’t arrive in the fight game through conventional means, but once he was here, fans didn’t want to let him go, and for good reason.
