Director’s Note
Fall Greetings Whitetail Club Members,
The next couple of weeks look to be picture-perfect fall weather. Make sure to visit Eugene, Patty, Kevin, and the team (at least) one more time before we put the golf course to bed for the year after play on October 17th. There are still few spots open at our November cooking class. This time Chef Marcus will be taking you to Tuscany, sharing recipes and techniques straight from the Italian countryside— this is an evening not to be missed. Contact the Whitetail Club concierge team to confirm your participation today.
may bring your own wine, but please leave your solo cups at home when heading to the clubhouse or Shore Lodge for dinner. This past month we welcomed eight new families to the Club. To Bill & Whitney, Amit, Dave & Jennifer, Ric & Julie, Ed & Leah, Bob & MaryAnn, Jeannie & Frank, and Randy & Cathy, thank you for choosing Whitetail Club. And thank you to all our members for an outstanding summer season. See you soon,
This November, we’ll be hosting the first-ever Whitetail Club Thanksgiving Turkey Trot. All ages are welcome. Stay tuned to future club communications for details. Later that day, we will be serving Thanksgiving dinner at the clubhouse. If you plan to be in town, make your reservations today. The menu that Chef Marcus has created is sensational. It has been brought to my attention that an increase in outside beverages being brought into the clubhouse has been noted. A reminder to all our members and their guests that no outside liquor or beer may be brought into the restaurants. As outlined in our member wine program, you

Summit Lake
Difficulty: EASY || Approximate Hike Duration: 30 MINS
If you are looking for a brisk hike where the views are not too far from your parked vehicle, then Summit Lake is the perfect place. The path’s granite outcroppings, ridges, and rocks make for a mesmerizing landscape that the entire family can enjoy. Before driving over, make sure to have enough water, snacks, gas, and road-trip songs for the 45-minute drive.
Ponderosa State Park
Difficulty: EASY TO MODERATE || Approximate Hike Duration: 45 MINS
Less than two miles away from downtown McCall, Ponderosa State Park’s expansive trail system allows for a wide range of hikes with spectacular views of Payette Lake. Kids of all ages can engage with nature’s playground by climbing on rocks, birdwatching, or observing the many species of trees found throughout the park, including Douglas Fir, Lodgepole Pine, Western Larch, and Grand Fir.
Grass Mountain Lakes + Coffee Cup Lake
Difficulty: MODERATE TO STRENUOUS || Approximate Hike Duration: 2 TO 4 HOURS
For postcard photography, visit Grass Mountain Lakes, where hikers come across dramatic granite cliffs sprinkled with green grass and fir trees. Out-and-back, this hike is 3.8 miles long. Tee Time
Dear Members, Could the weather this month have been any better? A spectacular end of the summer and beginning of fall. We started this month with the Couples Ryder Cup. The largest field to date by double, 24 couples competed. Congratulations to all that played! If you missed it, I hope you will join us next year, and we increase the size of the field. Congratulations to the winning team members of the Blue Team. They were: Dick & Sue Schrandt, Rick Clark/Liz Roberts, Dave & Roxanne Peterschmidt, Greg & Denise Wagner, Jim & Linda Donerkiel, Torry McAlvain/ Miki Edwards, Blake Galtney/Lexi Larson, Marcus Donaldson/Gibson Wilkes, Steve & Sue Clements, Mark & Julie Hutchinson, Jake & Staci Smith, and Zack Fox/April Rinehart. Next year’s format will include an option for couples to play with someone other than their spouse or significant other to accommodate some players’ requests. We will continue the option of playing with your spouse or significant other. The annual Rocky Mountain Pro-AM was held on Monday, October 13th. Whitetail Team of DH Moss, Dirk Koetter, Scott Butterfield, and Kevin White finished third overall. DH Moss individually finished first in his flight and Scott Butterfield third. Congratulation’s gentlemen, way to represent Whitetail Club!! As we move into the last month of the season, two golf events remain. Saturday, October 9th, is the Fall Classic. Open to couples, individuals, and guests. Make your team, or the golf shop will pair you. For more information and to sign up, don’t hesitate to contact the golf shop. On the season’s final day, October 17th, Sunday, the diabolical Nick Korthals sets some crazy wild pin locations. All the players play the golf course from the Black tees to some fun (unfair) pins locations, calling it “The Ball Buster.” I hope if you are in town, you will join us for the day. Again, for more information and to sign up, please call the golf shop.
I want to take the time to thank the staff that departed earlier this month for their outstanding service and commitment to the operation. Anna Gard, Beryn Value, and Quinn Mooney, we appreciate all your help and the job you did all season. Good luck at school this year!! I also want to thank Diana Miller, Patty Gordon, Kevin White & Paul Currie for a wonderful season. Their efforts the entire season made this one of our best as it was our busiest round count ever. From mid-August through the end of the season, everyone contributed to provide the service you all deserve. Thank you all for your fantastic effort and commitment to the operation this season. I look forward to working with you all in 2022!! You will see all four working throughout the winter, either at the clubhouse or Shore Lodge. Please remember when in McCall this winter that the Golf Simulator Building will be available for your use. We have two bays with the Trackman technology. You can practice, play games, and or golf courses. Feel free to text me when you want to reserve time in the Studio, individually or with a group. We are already planning a spectacular event and tournament calendar for next season. Hopefully, we get a tremendous ski season and lots of snow for all the skiers. Spring cannot come soon enough, so we can get the golf course back open. In the meantime, have a wonderful winter and enjoy the holidays with family and friends and stay healthy. As always, please let me know if you need anything. See you all soon. Respectfully,

Real Estate
This month, meet the creative mind behind stunning architectural gems such as Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, The Young/ Cordray House, and McCall US Bank, Idaho-based Architect Jevon Truex of J Truex Architecture. Truex is a key player in the industry, infusing McCall’s architectural history into his designs, ‘Evergreen’ and ‘Foothills,’ part of Whitetail Club’s Design-Build Collection. “Taking McCall’s surrounding area into consideration was paramount in the ideation of each design. The town was influential because we were mindful of the site’s topography, solar exposure, and historical properties that retain the city’s rich heritage,” said Jevon Truex, Owner at J Truex Architecture. “When the earliest cabins were built in McCall, you could see these massive beams holding up the roof. Nowadays, the beams are typically concealed, but we’ve exposed them to give the interior a rustic look and feel.” Read the full story to learn more about how Truex seizes the opportunity of merging the town’s historical authenticity with mountain modern designs across these stunning Design-Build designs, ‘Evergreen’ and ‘Foothills’.
