Whitetail Club Members,
So far, the Winter Season has been everything but normal. The unseasonably warm temperatures have presented several challenges for our grounds team. The delayed start forced us to reapply winter agents on the greens; we lost over 30 trees during a microburst, we’ve blown the green surfaces to remove harmful ice dams, and the property received over 5.5 inches of rain in December. My hat is off to Nick and his team for their tireless efforts to preserve the grounds as well as deliver our winter amenities. His team spent multiple days hauling snow from all over the property to prepare our tubing hill for use, so if you see him or the team, please help me thank them for their efforts.
The Winter Carnival is in its final week! Join in on the fun and watch our Shore Lodge | Whitetail Team cruise through Lake St. in the annual Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, February 7 at 12pm. Watch the fireworks that evening from the comforts of the Clubhouse or directly under the show at Brown Park.
With Mother Nature throwing us a curve, February has gotten a little compressed with multiple events being pushed into February. The Big Game is on at the Golf & Nordic Center on Sunday, February 8, at 4pm. Complete menu details can be found on page 8. President’s weekend now has a multitude of activities for your enjoyment: Elk View Sleigh Ride, Sledding Party, Cat Skiing, and of course, our friends from Va Piano joining us for a Valentine's Day tasting menu. For more information and registration details, please see page 8 or refer to the portal.
Looking ahead to March, rsvp early for the Cooking Class conducted by Chef Marcus on Saturday, the 7th, and we are ecstatic to reintroduce the bi-annual Yurt Dinner on Saturday, the 21st. Space is limited. Register through the portal or by calling the Club Concierge.
On behalf of Tom and I, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to our tenured teammates listed on page 2, as well as congratulate our Manager & Employee of the year for 2025. You all continue to inspire us and those around you to create lifelong memories for our Members and guests.
As always, we are here to answer any and all of your questions or concerns. My information is available in the portal, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Look forward to seeing you around the Club.
Cheers! Max
Riggs

Anew month has arrived, bringing plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the season. Local festivities are in full swing and as the month continues, there are opportunities to come together for special dinners, social events, and winter activities. Even postponed events are making their return, adding to the lineup of things to look forward to. With a mix of excitement, connection, and snowy adventures, this month promises memorable moments for everyone.

WINTER CARNIVAL
The winter carnival festivities come with a playful twist as we’re on the hunt for Sharlie, our legendary Payette Lake dragon, as part of this year’s theme, “Where in the World is Sharlie?” All around town, you’ll find the magic of winter on display with larger-than-life ice sculptures, live music, local vendors, and a high-spirited community. The final weekend features a busy lineup, including Grand Bingo, the Mardi Gras Parade, and fireworks shows, all on February 7.
The energy and excitement that will fill McCall during the Winter Carnival will carry us right into one of the most anticipated events of the season: Game Day!

While Sunday, February 8, marks the official close of the carnival, our community’s energy keeps the celebration alive with the ultimate Super Bowl Party. Whether you come for football, food, or simply to watch the commercials, you are invited to join us at the Golf & Nordic Center for the event. Enjoy a winning menu featuring Buffalo Chicken Dip served with crispy tortillas and garlic naan, Chicken Teriyaki Wontons with a zingy sesame‑ginger dip, and our irresistibly rich Caramelized Onion Dip. And, of course, commercial breaks and the halftime show promise just as much excitement as the game itself. There’s still time to rsvp, so huddle up and reserve your spot for a night of community, camaraderie, and football fun!

The following day, February 15, we’ll gather again for our Sledding Party from 11am to 1pm, a family favorite activity that takes place at our very own sledding hill. Then, in the final adventure of the month, members will head to Brundage for a Cat Skiing experience and a heart-pounding adventure! This adventure is currently sold out. If interested, please join the waitlist. ELK VIEW SLEIGH RIDE
DINNER SLEDDING PARTY
The following weekend, we’ll keep the winter fun rolling with our Elk View Sleigh Ride, newly scheduled on February 14. Hop aboard for a magical ride through snowy scenery to view the elk roaming freely. Later that evening, we warm things up at our Wine Dinner featuring Va Piano Vineyards at our Valentine’s Day Dinner at the clubhouse, featuring live music by Katrina Nicolayeff & Bernie Reilley. True to the spirit of Va Piano, whose name is derived from the Italian proverb “Chi Va Piano, Va Sano e Va Lontano,” meaning that when you go slowly, you go safely and you go far, this dinner is all about slowing down and enjoying the moment. Va Piano focuses on Cabernet Sauvignons, Syrahs, and red blends, with each bottle poured highlighting the best of the Walla Walla and Columbia Valleys. This night will be perfect for savoring great wine, delicious food, and the warmth of good company. The excitement doesn't stop there.
