Dear Whitetail Club Members,
I trust that everyone has had an enjoyable spring and is ready to turn the page to our summer months. As noted in last month’s Trailblazer, the Whitetail Club, and Shore Lodge staff have been gearing up for the fun times ahead for you and yours.
We are excited to bring on board our new Club Director, Joe Robinson. Having conducted an in-depth search over the last three months, we feel that Joe’s background and enthusiasm for the McCall lifestyle will assist us in our goal of continuous improvement. I will commit to spending the quality time he will require to get him up to speed and to understand our club culture and direction. Please read his bio in the pages that follow.
As we move through June, we remain steadfast in getting the final pieces in place for our amenities. The Whitetail Burger Co. & Coffee Bar will still have some furnishings from last year due to some logistical challenges we have had with certain manufacturers and supply chains. I am very pleased with the outcome of the renovation and the increased functionality we now have. In addition, I have received many positive and pleasing comments about the addition of our new outdoor courts. I hope they become one of your highlights for the summer season.
With the ongoing expansion of our docks, we will have some slips available to members on our waiting list. Please contact Amanda, our Club Concierge, if you have any questions. For those of you who would rather rent from the Whitetail Club fleet, we are purchasing a new Malibu speed boat, a new Sky Deck, and a new Pontoon boat. These rentals can be made through our Club Concierge.
As in the past, we will be putting out some friendly reminders to the membership, that allows for a safe, fun, and respectful environment. Please read the articles put out by our course superintendent, Adam Lott, and those from Andrew Elaimy, our new Head Golf Professional. Along with those, we ask that you adhere to the posted speed limits of 20mph in and around Whitetail Club. I will have our security team pay close attention to the contractors in and out of our gates to address gravel spills and to be aware of our community rules. Your feedback is always welcome. Just reach out to Joe Robinson and or me.
Also, I would like to welcome some new members to our club. Scott and Anne Davidson, long-time McCall residents, are excited to be part of what they see as a special place. Scott enjoys golf and is looking forward to meeting some of you who play in the Saturday Crew Games. Anne is very active in many outdoor activities, including tennis. Both are very social and outgoing.
In that regard, I would also like to welcome Jim and Gayle Chalfant. They live in Boise and have been coming to McCall for years. They have been members of Crane Creek for over twenty years and have membership at Desert Highlands in Scottsdale. They chose us because we offer their grandchildren a warm and safe environment with many fun amenities they can enjoy together.
Lastly, our enhanced additions to the Member Portal and app are operational now. As noted previously, members will now be able to book their tee times in advance, just as you have been doing with our restaurant, courts, and golf studio. We plan to have a “pop-up Apps & App” mixer in the coming weeks for those members wanting more of an understanding of the Whitetail Club Member Portal and app.
Sincerely,
Tom E. Garcia

Meet Our Club Director: Joe Robinson
Joseph 'Joe' Robinson is no stranger to the Rocky Mountains! After living in Colorado for nearly 21 years, he and his family are excited to now call McCall, ID home. Originally from Hermitage, a town about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh in Western Pennsylvania, Joe brings his deep appreciation for the outdoors to Whitetail Club.
Robinson previously worked as the Senior Property Manager for Toad Properties in Crested Butte, CO. Before that, he lived in Eagle Valley (Edwards, CO), where Joe spent 12 years as the Club Director of The Passport Clubhouse at Golden Peak Lodge – a Vail Resorts property. Prior to that role, Joe worked as a golf professional at Red Sky Golf Club and pursued his dream of playing professional golf along the East Coast throughout his 20s.
Joe has contributed to his community by
serving on the boards of two nonprofits: the Eagle River Watershed Council, which advocates for healthy rivers and streams, and The Trailhead Museum, which provides engaging experiences to inspire children and families to explore, create, and learn together.
Joe is pursuing a master's degree in Outdoor Recreation Economy at The University of Colorado and holds a B.S. in Wildlife Fisheries Science from Penn State University. Joe and his wife Beth are raising their two young daughters, Bryn and Emmie, and are excited to be part of another beautiful and vibrant community. With plenty of adventurous pursuits in McCall, they are most looking forward to getting out on the golf course, camping, fishing, or hiking and skiing the surrounding peaks and hills.
Starting this month, you'll see Joe around Whitetail Club and at all our upcoming summer events! Please don't hesitate to say hello and introduce yourself. He can also be reached at 208.630.0216 or jrobinson@whitetailclub.com.

Greetings Whitetail Club Members,
We've teed off the 2024 golf season in stellar fashion here at the club.
Course conditions have been immaculate, and the early feedback has been tremendously positive. On a personal note, I want to thank you all for the incredibly warm welcome during my first few months on the job. The support and kindness from members has made the transition to Whitetail Club an absolute pleasure.
As a newcomer, I've been incredibly impressed by the strong sense of community and high standards that define this membership. Your passion for the game and respect for the club's traditions are truly admirable. It's an honor to lead the golf operations for such an exceptional group.
Speaking of traditions, I'd like to remind everyone to get their name in for our first annual Season Long Member Match Play tournament. This seasonal event allows you to square off against fellow
members in an individual match-play format. It's the perfect opportunity to put your skills to the test while enjoying some friendly but competitive spirit out on the course.
Don't delay—the deadline to enter is June 17. Thank you again for the warm reception. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know each of you and look forward to a fantastic season ahead as we uphold Whitetail Club's prestigious legacy.
Sincerely,
Andrew Elaimy

Dear Whitetail Club Members,
I hope you all had a great winter. As we gear up for another golf season, I want to take the opportunity to highlight a few areas that we could use your cooperation with:
1. No traction (aggressive) golf cart tires will be allowed on the golf course. Turf tires cause much less disruption and tearing of the turf and will be required moving forward. Please review the examples provided below to understand what is and is not allowed. The Golf Shop staff and golf course mechanics are happy to help with ordering the proper tires.
2. We highly encourage players to pair up on golf carts when playing in groups rather than driving individual carts. This approach will drastically reduce wear patterns and compaction throughout the golf course.
3. Using the sand and seed bottles provided to fill divots is always appreciated (even if they’re not your divots). Please try to use an entire bottle during your round. Divot mix can also be used for winter and vole damage. Fairways should take priority in repairs.
4. The use of 4-seat or larger golf carts is not allowed on the golf course. However, you are welcome to park them at The Golf Shop and use our company golf carts.
We are very excited for the golf course to open and look forward to a great season. Thank you all for helping us provide a great product to the membership and in making Whitetail Club the best it can be.
Sincerely

FATHER’S DAY Activities
Father's Day is on the horizon, and beyond finding the perfect silly pun or one-liner card or getting him a new accessory for his hobby, here are some adventurous yet relaxing ways to celebrate with him.
For adventure enthusiasts and outdoorsy dads, take him on a scenic hike to Goose Creek Falls. At just three miles roundtrip, the hike suits all skill levels, allowing the entire family to join, even your fur companions. Grab a go-to lunch from Whitetail Burger Co. & Coffee Bar and set off on an adventure to witness views of a thundering waterfall and a Father's Day picnic in McCall's scenic landscape.
If dad prefers trekking through the water rather than on foot, get out on Payette Lake and enjoy a boat day at North Beach. Embark on your own or rent a boat from the Whitetail Club fleet, which offers a range of options suited to your needs. Once there, boat your vessel and enjoy soaking up the sun, or rent standup paddle boards or kayaks from Backcountry Adventures. Paddle the Upper North Fork of the Payette River to witness McCall's wildlife, including moose, deer, elk, and osprey, as you glide alongside the tranquil waters.
Whether you hike through the backcountry, sail across the water, or select another adventure that's more dad's style, make sure to wish dad a Happy Father's Day on behalf of Whitetail Club.
