Dear Whitetail Club Members,
I want to thank the membership for their patience as we finished constructing our new mail room at The Fish & Swim Club. We’re thrilled to announce that the space is now completed and in operation. If you are a Resident Member interested in confirming mail service at Whitetail Club, please contact the Club Concierge for details.
You’ll note that we have begun the excavation work necessary to install our new outdoor tennis (1) and pickleball (4) courts just north of the Indoor Tennis & Fitness Center. We’ll be back in touch with the membership as we get closer to completing these new amenities with instructions/reminders on reserving your court time.
We continue to receive reports from members of traffic within the community driving at accelerated speeds and not adhering to signage or roundabouts. This is a reminder that the posted speed limit in Whitetail Club is 20mph. Let’s all do our best to slow down and enjoy the scenery. We’ll continue to work with contractors to ensure it’s very clear to them that these same expectations apply to them as well.
The membership department continues to be very active, as we welcomed five new families this past month. To Glen Eberle & Tricia Hanley, Ross & Kate Dworman, Preston & Katie Roper, David & Karen McKinnon, and Chris & Amy Edgar, thank you for choosing Whitetail Club.
We’re thrilled to see so many members enjoying our golf course. Adam, Nick, Nancy, and the rest of the turf team have all been working tirelessly to maintain this amazing amenity for you all to enjoy. Some of the necessary steps that are implemented, though, can alter the condition of the course, potentially affecting a golfer’s experience. Because of this, and similar to how we communicate the conditions of our Nordic Skii track, we’ll now be (via our Whitetail Club app) providing golf course condition updates when appropriate. If you haven’t already, log in to the app, go to settings/notifications, and click ‘allow’ to ensure you receive these communications.
A round of applause is in order for Linda Donerkiel (along with her partner Sonia Clysdale) and Betsy Galtney (and her partner Abby Black) for taking top honors (Net & Gross Champions, respectively) at this year’s Ladies Member Guest. And congratulations to the winners of our annual Member/Member Tournament. Here’s to Johnny Ramirez & Poncho Romero (Net Champions) and Mark Tidd & Sam Tidd (Gross Champions). And for the ladies, a shout out to Marie Hendrix & Sue Schrandt (Net Champions) and Amanda Townsend & Julie Hutchinson (Gross Champions). Well done!
Last but certainly not least, I must highlight our Jr. Club Champions. Congratulations to Hunter Hastings, Aveer Sood, Hallie Wheeler & Max Wheeler, who all took top honors in their respective age groups. Thank you to all of our juniors that participated. It was great to watch.
We’re kicking August off with a bang with the Men’s Invitational and our annual Summer Concert featuring LOCASH. I hope to see you there!
Thank you,
Jocelyn Kidd, CCM

PICKLEBALL IS THE FASTEST GROWING SPORT for two consecutive years and is continuing to grow at an expectational rate. And to ensure you’re a part of the growth contributed to the sport, it’s crucial to find the right paddle for your skill level and play style. However, it’s overwhelming having to consider the various key factors that make a paddle unique to your gameplay needs. Dear Whitetail Club Members,
A warm welcome to the month of August. The temperatures are reaching their peak, and the days allow plenty of golf. We frequently see days with full tee sheets. Please remember that the earlier you can call us for a tee time, the better chance we can accommodate the day and time you are looking for. The Golf Shop staff is there to take down all the pertinent information to ensure your expectations are met.
Here is a list of upcoming events:
• Men’s Invitational: August 2-5 *Please note the golf course and driving range will be closed.
• 9 & Dine: August 11 *Waitlist.
• Men’s & Ladies Club Championship: August 19–20 *RSVP by August 14.
Friendly reminder, no golf programs will take place during the week of the Men’s Invitational. Several of our golf staff will leave us this month to return to school. I invite you to thank each of them and wish them well in the upcoming school year. These team members will be missed as we finish out the season. Their dedication and hard work are much appreciated!
Cheers to August!
Sincerely,
Phil Goodson Head Golf Professional Ready for Football
Dear Whitetail Club Members,
It’s with great pleasure that I’ve been asked to write a letter for our August Trailblazer. July was quite the month with tournaments and events. As we look to August, the Men’s Invitational kicks things off. As you all know, we faced many challenges and a late start on the golf course this year. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support while we were cart path only. The lack of cart traffic tremendously helped recovery. That being said, we ask that you please continue the following:
1. Not parking carts close to greens and tee boxes. We still have thin spots in those areas we are working diligently to recover.
2. Pairing up on carts rather than singles would be greatly appreciated by the maintenance staff. Less cart traffic helps improve turf density and reduces compaction in high-traffic areas.

Dear Whitetail Club Members,
Allow me to introduce myself to those I have not had the pleasure to meet. I am Cory Strobaugh, the Beverage Program Manager for Whitetail Club and Shore Lodge. It has come to my attention that my services and amenities may not have reached all of you, and I wanted to say hello and tell you about our Member Wine Buying Program.
We offer you the service of ordering wine on your behalf and having it set aside for you to pick up at the clubhouse. We have a member wine list that showcases all of the wines within our inventory and their associated costs to you, our valued members. In addition, I am more than happy to procure wines for you that we may not have in inventory. Distribution in Idaho is necessary, of course, per Idaho State Law. I have already had the pleasure of assisting many of you in building your cellars for the summer and the holidays, and I intend to assist every wine lover at our club.
Please contact me for more information or a copy of the member wine list at cstrobaugh@whitetailclub.com.
I also invite all of you to our Complimentary Member Wine Tasting events that I conduct at the clubhouse every last Saturday of the month from 4-6pm. I hope all of you are having a fantastic summer and to connect with you soon.
Cory Strobaugh, Beverage Program Manager
