Fall Flavors

The 2022 end-of-season golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 8, with a shotgun start at 1pm. Put a team together and reserve your spot or if you are looking to partner up, make sure to call The Golf Shop. Eugene and the crew will make sure to pair you up. Everyone is welcome, and the format will be fun! Whether you’re playing golf or not, plan to attend our Member Mixer that same day at the Golf Shop & Grille, starting at 5:30pm. As always, complimentary appetizers and a signature drink will be provided, along with live music from one of our favorite local performers. This will also be a perfect time to get your last-minute Whitetail Club gear. It’s never too early to get a little holiday shopping started!
Something to note, The Cove will be closed starting November 15 for a little repair and refresh. We don’t intend the closure to last longer than a few weeks, but as we near completion, we’ll update the membership in our weekly communications. If you were hoping to enjoy the immersion pools during that time, a reminder that both the clubhouse and The Fish & Swim Club hot tubs are open year-round.
Beginning the week of October 10, the clubhouse restaurant and bar will transition to its fall hours of operation, Thursday – Sunday, 9am – 9pm. This
will remain the case until the winter holidays. For current hours of operation for Whitetail Club (and Shore Lodge outlets), make sure to refer to the Whitetail Club Member app or our weekly/monthly communications.
We welcomed new members, Don & Debbie Richardson, to the club this past month. Thank you for choosing Whitetail Club.
The temperatures for the next couple of weeks look ideal. Make sure to take advantage of this fantastic fall weather.
Thank you to the entire membership for a fabulous summer season.
Sincerely,
With the introduction of turning leaves, cooling temperatures, and darkening nights, we welcome autumn to Whitetail Club with staple Pacific Northwest comfort foods. From hearty and pleasantly flavorful chilis to aromatic cocktails, take a deep dive and indulge in all the new eats we’re serving this season.
Once the weather starts to cool, recipes turn comforting and nostalgic - and there’s nothing better than cozying up in your favorite sweater with a bowl of chili. Stop by the clubhouse restaurant to try one of these three new chili dishes:
Super packed with rich flavor profiles and high-quality bison meat, this slow-cooked, and spicy chili brings the heat that provides a blanket of comfort during crisp autumn days.
Satisfy your cravings with our savory Chicken White Chili! With its tender chicken, lusciously creamy broth, and the perfect blend of spices, it’s the ideal dish for a relaxing dinner.
Indulge in a melancholy bliss with a fatty, gamy, and tender bite of our Lamb Chili Verde. Cooked in a bolstered of fall spices and laced with flavor, this dish will be intoxicatingly addicting.
Once you try our three new chili offerings at the clubhouse restaurant, stop by The Cutwater on Payette Lake for their new Buffalo Chili.
Infusing the warmth and coziness of fall doesn’t stop at food. Starting October 14,
This out-of-the-world vodka-based cocktail features an autumn twist on a classic Moscow Mule. With the incorporation of rosemary, cranberry, and ginger beerthe harmony of flavors bursts into your mouth.
We can never forget about dessert! For October, stop by The Coffee Shop at Shore Lodge for your morning coffee and pair it with one of the new weekly cookies being offered. From Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, Ginger, and Butter Snicker, these cookies promise a soft and chewy bite.
Visit the Whitetail Club Member app or Member Portal to make your reservations today.
Dear Members,
The golf course was perfect, and then it was not. September 12-14, Adam & Nick aeriated the golf course. A little unfortunate rain hampered their efforts, but the work was complete, and we reopened on Thursday, September 15. This process is necessary to keep our course conditions fantastic throughout the season. Thank you, gentlemen and your team, for your outstanding effort and making the golf course conditions the best in the state!
I did not get to report the final results of the Couples Ryder Cup in my September letter. The winning teams were; Brian & Nichol Black, Ed & Leah Bedell, Derek & Cheri Moore, Marty & Lisa Dougherty, Torry McAlvain, and Miki Edwards. Congratulations on a hard-fought victory. It was an excellent competition. I hope we can attract a larger field next year for this fun competition. Thank you to all the participants.
The next event was Monster Golf. Congratulations to Greg Wagner and Desi Reilly on capturing the individual net titles! Twenty-four players competed this year, and everyone enjoyed a fun day regardless of their score. Thank you for playing.
As we wind down the season, we have two more golf events. The Fall Classic Tournament will be played on Saturday, October 8. We will shotgun the group at 1pm. This is open to all players, singles, and couples (guests are invited as well). Make your own team, or The Golf Shop will pair you. The format is a two-person Best Ball on the front and a two-person Scramble on the back. Please sign up by calling The Golf Shop or text me. Following golf, we will have a Member Mixer in the Golf Grille and award our winners.
The final day of this golf season will be on Sunday, October 16. Annually we have our Ball Buster tournament. This is when we play the golf course from the tips and put the pins in some very challenging locations on the greens. Perhaps a little goofier than the typical setup days, but always fun. I want to take this time to thank the remaining staff for a fantastic season as we say goodbye to Kerone, Sherine, Seda, Leighton, and Paul. Thank you for a wonderful job this season! I also want to thank the amazing efforts of The Golf Shop team, Diana, Patty, and Kevin, for another incredibly successful season. It cannot be done without your efforts and execution. I so appreciate all that you all do; thank you!
We have already started to plan for the ‘23 golf season. If you have any comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward, as always, to your communication and thoughts. Have a wonderful winter. For those traveling to warmer weather, please travel safely, and for the skiers, I am already hoping for a great ski season!! Be well.
