Director’s Note Dear Whitetail Club Members,

I am thrilled to introduce to you all Ms. Addison Ross.

Addy has been a team member for over a year as a participant in our Manager In Training program. We are excited to announce that she has just accepted the position of our Member Relations Supervisor.

As the Member Relations Supervisor, Addy will be overseeing all concierge offerings, our residential services programming, assisting with new member onboarding and orientations, and supporting our Member Services team in various other capacities.

Addy is jumping in with both feet and is looking forward to meeting all our members. If you’re at the clubhouse, make sure to stop by and say hello, Addy will be officing upstairs. To learn more about our MIT program, refer to page 10.

Please note that access to the paved trails that meander throughout Whitetail Club has been modified. Specifically, the short/steep trail section leading up to Lichen Lane is now closed and unavailable for any access. The map loaded to the member portal has been updated with that section of the trail removed. A link to the map will be included in our upcoming weekly eblasts as well. In addition, moving forward, no gasoline-powered vehicles/ATVs (other than administrative) are permitted on these paved trails. This includes the sections that go under both Highway 55 and Warren Wagon Road. The trails are reserved for pedestrian use or electric-powered modes of transportation only. Thank you for your attention to these matters.

As mentioned in previous club communications, we will be reissuing new gate codes for all members and vendors. In the upcoming week, each member will receive a specific communication from the Safety & Security Team with their new gate code. Along with your new gate code, you will also receive a reminder of the available options to accommodate guest access. The new codes will go into effect on June 1, 2022, at which time all previous codes will be deactivated. PLEASE do your part in protecting the Whitetail Club experience for all our members and limit the sharing of your gate code to primary members and extended family only.

Also previously mentioned, we will be assigning and distributing membership-specific keychain FOBs. These FOBs will gain you access to the lakefront Clubhouse from the Shore Lodge pool area via the lakefront door or otherwise referenced as the Narnia door. No longer will be using keycards. Our tentative plan is to have these available for pick up by Memorial Day weekend.

As we finalize the details, we’ll communicate with the membership with more specifics.

The 2022-2023 directories are in production. Thank you to all our members for logging into the Whitetail Club portal to update your information. Directory inserts will be mailed to your addresses on file and should be in your mailboxes by the end of May or shortly thereafter.

As we head into the summer season, we remind all our members that it is never too early to get your RSVPs in for events, make your dinner reservations, schedule spa appointments, tee times, or boat rentals.

Let us know how we can help. And on the subject of summer, refer to page 10 for a complete list of hours of operations and summer facility openings.

We have grounds improvements planned at both our Fish & Swim Club and our lakefront Clubhouse scheduled for this Spring. Please pay attention to our weekly and monthly communications for updates to ensure there are no surprise disruptions while visiting these facilities.

SEASON opening WITH SUMMER ON THE HORIZON, the club is gearing up for our

busiest time of the year. This includes the opening of the golf course, preparing the beach and marina, gearing up for a full schedule of fitness programs, and a robust event schedule. And while our mountain-lake surroundings provide a year-round playground, there’s something about summer that brings opportunity for even more thrilling outdoor adventures, blue skies, and sun-sational fun activities. Whether you crave a downhill thrill through a rigorous mountain trail, friendly competition on the golf course, or a day out on the lake, Whitetail Club is prepared to help you accomplish your summer wish list and optimize the season.

IN PREPARATION FOR THE SEASON, WE ARE SHARING UPDATES WE HAVE MADE TO ENSURE SUMMER IS SPECTACULAR.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE If you or your friend are staying at Shore Lodge this summer, you’ll notice a refresh of the guest rooms, including a brighter façade and new bathrooms.

The resort is also upgrading its game room and various public spaces.

Enjoy the club’s onsite trails on one of our new Specialized Stumpjumper Alloy Mountain Bikes! Please note that you’ll need to make reservations in advance through the Club Concierge to utilize our mountain bikes. The Trailhead will remain locked for the season, and someone from the Member Services team will meet you at The Trailhead to help you access the bikes.

The game room, located in the Indoor Tennis and Fitness Center, got a makeover, including new furniture and paint.

From classic old-school arcade games, air hockey, or foosball, Whitetail Club makes sure that staying in this summer is equally as fun as enjoying the adrenaline rush of the outdoors!

With our new Stand On Liquid Caspian and Stand On Liquid Atlantic inflatable paddleboards, Lifetime Spitfire tandem, and Lifetime Spitfire single kayaks, experience the beauty of Payette Lake in the summer sun.

Next time you walk into The Golf Shop, you’ll see new lighting, wallpaper, area rugs, and furniture. Additionally, we reconfigured the changing areas to include more lockers.

We encourage you to reserve a locker this season; they are complementary and available by request.

When you’re at the club, tune in to the weekly emails sent every Tuesday, read the Trailblazer, and refer to the Member Portal and Member app. The portal and app remain the most up-to-date way to review our calendar of events, RSVP, and make dining and court reservations.

Tee Time

What an April we had in McCall! The snow was melting, the turf looked great, and then we got hit with a week of snow; darn! What we did see looked very positive. As we “re-melt” work will begin again on the course, we will be ready for our opening day on Saturday, May 21st.

I am so excited that this will be my tenth season!!

Our department is fully staffed as we look ahead to the golf season, marking this an incredible year for hiring great talent. The personnel you will see from previous seasons include; Diana, Patty, Kevin, Anna, Paul, and Quinn, and the new hires will complement those mentioned. I am confident that our team will be set for opening day and the entire season, and I look forward to making introductions.

The Season Opening Tournament will take place on Saturday, May 28th. The format is friendly, and we hope you will join us for the day. We will have a shotgun start at 1 pm. That evening we have a Member Mixer at The Golf Grille, where we award our tournament winners. Make your team, or The Golf Shop will pair you. Please sign up by emailing me or calling The Golf Shop.

The Men’s Invitational drawing took place last month. The field will notice the entry fee charge for the tournament on your May club bill. If your plans have changed and you now cannot play, please let me know at your earliest convenience so your fellow members on the waitlist can secure their guest and play. At this time, we are also taking reservations for the Ladies Member Guest. Please get in touch with The Golf Shop or me to sign up if you plan on playing.

As we all move on from the pandemic, we strongly encourage players to pair up when taking carts to play. The Turfgrass team works extremely hard conditioning the golf course and keeping the golf course conditions to the standard you expect. Cart traffic creates tremendous wear on the golf course.

With our increased number of rounds each season, more traffic will mean more wear & tear on golf course conditions. Those who own a private cart are expected to pair up and observe the two carts per foursome expectation and adhere to good cart driving etiquette. We ask everyone to stay on the cart path and enter the turf after the entry stake when leaving the tee. If your drive ends up well past the entry stake, please remain on the path and enter the turf at the point of your drive. Depart the turf as early as possible but at a minimum before the exit stake.

When arriving at numbers four & fourteen, you will notice our new member comfort stations, including larger refrigerators, increased snack shelving, and fresh ice & water machines. We wanted to ensure that you find your desired beverage and snack of adequate supply when you arrive at those holes. As always, please get in touch with me with any questions.

Next time you enter The Golf Shop, you will notice a refreshed space. The changes include new lighting, wallpaper, area rugs, and furniture and the longawaited addition of increased lockers in each of the men’s and ladies’ locker rooms. We accommodated this change by decreasing the size of each locker.

Addy, a graduate of Northern Arizona University, joined our team as a part of our Manager in Training program. Our MIT program is a blended 2-year learning program focused on immersing professionals in all aspects of private club and resort operations. In the first year, training takes
