Director’s Note Dear Whitetail Club Members,

July has flown by with an action-packed line-up of events in the rearview. Our favorite family events, the Family Fishing Derby and the 4th of July BBQ kicked off the month. We captured so many smiling faces, too many to share in this month’s newsletter, so we have added these to the member portal for viewing. Go to the What’s Happening tab and click Gallery on the portal. Among various events and programs throughout the month, the end of July marks the beginning of our annual golf tournaments, with the Ladies Member Guest and Member Member behind us and the Men’s Invitational just days away. And we can’t mention the Men’s Invitational weekend without getting pumped for the annual summer concert on Saturday, August 6. I hope to see you all there as we rock to the sounds of Rolling Stones’ best hits performed by the Glimmer Twins. The summer concert is always one of the most anticipated and well-attended Whitetail Club events of the year. See you there! As our summer events have heated up, so has the weather McCall has experienced. This record heat is expected to continue into August, and our access to Payette Lake has been the ideal respite to these hot days. I encourage you to stop by The Boathouse, open 10 am - 5 pm daily through August 14 and Wednesday - Sunday after August 15. In addition to pool, boat, and beach gear, The Boathouse will set you up with a stand-up paddleboard or kayak. Not only is this a great way to exercise but a perfect way to cool down!

Speaking of exercise, we dedicated the main editorial of this issue to wellness; as we join the celebration of National Wellness Month in August. On pages 4-6, we have highlighted some of our favorite ways to stay healthy and fit at Whitetail Club. The recent amenity enhancements to the club are great examples of our commitment to helping our members achieve a healthy lifestyle, including new mountain bikes, opening walking access on the groomed trails, new water sports equipment, and the expanded pickleball court. The portal is an excellent resource for finding the best ways to stay fit each season. The buzz of summer activity at the club has prompted us to share an email to the membership on July 16 sent from Tom Garcia. The message includes guidelines on respectfully using our shared spaces throughout the property. We thank you for your cooperation. For reference, we have included the highlights of those points on page 14. Please join me in welcoming Katie & Bryant Jones and Brittany & Octavian Jurj. We are excited to have you join our community during such an energetic point in the season. Wishing you all a fantastic August! Sincerely,

Jocelyn Kidd, CCM

at Whitetail Club

Experts say it takes 21 days to create a habit and 90 days to become a lifestyle change. Make the commitment this month to develop lifelong healthy habits. You’ll thank yourself later by starting today! Here is a list of how to achieve wellness each day of the week.

5.

Sunday

The Age of Enlightenment Start the week by transcending into a calmer state of mind. Our weekly Vinyasa Yoga class will heighten your senses and create a renewed awareness of your body and mind. A variety of yoga poses designed to strengthen your muscles and soothe your soreness will fully rejuvenate you to take on the day.

Every Sunday at 9am until September 4th | The Fish & Swim Patio $15 per class*

Monday

Pound for Pound Nothing beats a Monday mashup to start the week strong. Start with a stunning strength workout and finish with a heart-pumping cardio session. Remember that with the Pelton Bikes, you don’t have to go at it alone!

The Fitness Center is open daily from 6am–10pm.

Tuesday Water Works

Water workouts provide excellent pathways for both strength and cardiovascular work. Whether you choose the pool or Payette Lake, Whitetail Club has you covered. Our lakefront hub, The Boathouse, has everything needed to make waves! Secure a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, for a killer upper body strength exercise on Payette Lake. Or head to the pool and use the noodles and other equipment to elevate your workouts.

FIT CLUB

The Boathouse is Open Daily until August 14th | 10am–5pm and Open Wednesday – Sunday starting August 15th until September 5th.

Premium Fuel

Wellness doesn’t stop at exercising. Fueling your body with the proper nutrients and minerals is pivotal to feeling good. The clubhouse has a Power Smoothie packed with kale, blueberries, bananas, and peanut butter; this nutrient-dense smoothie is rich with antioxidants supporting digestive health and a healthy heart while aiding muscle growth. This smoothie definitely packs a punch! Open Daily until September 11th 6. from 8am–10pm

Wednesday Take a Hike

While McCall and the surrounding area have plenty of hiking options to take part in, the groomed trails on our property are a great option when you need something local. Last year the trail map was expanded from bikes and Nordic skis to include walking. Venture into a scenic hike, where dogs are welcomed as long as they are cleaned up after.

Thursday

Get On The Bike Did you know that your ‘backyard” has over 10 miles of single-track mountain bike trails? What an incredible opportunity to rev up your fitness level.

T CLUB Contact a Member Services team member to meet at the Trailhead to get you fit on the right bike. Available as weather permits.

Friday Spa Day

With priority access to Idaho’s best spa, you have rejuvenating treatments at your beck and call. After a week of fitness, chill out at The Cove with a soothing massage, cleansing facial, and soak in the immersion pools. You deserve it!

Open Daily 9am–9pm, by appointment only.

Saturday

The Sultans of Swing

A brisk and competitive golf game can improve your metabolic profile and cardiovascular system. Learn how to sharpen your skills at one of our Saturday golf programs, Crew Games and Sandy Beaches. Each week, depending on the number of participants, we play a new golf format to keep you on your toes. Meet us at The Golf Shop.

Crew Games (Men) – Every Saturday until September 10th | Time: 9am in August & 10am in September $20 per class* Sandy Beaches (Women) – Every Saturday until September 10th | Time: 9am in August & 10am in September

Tee Time

Dear Members, A truly great July! What tremendous weather all month. Play continues to be strong, although slightly less play than last year. We hope you are enjoying your golf, all the events, and the excellent conditions the Turfgrass team has on the golf course playing. Adam, Nick, and the team are doing a fabulous job; thank you! All our weekly clinics and events have seen record participation which is awesome; thank you for participating. Our first event was the 9 & Dine. A record number of players, 64!! Finishing in second was the team of Desi Reilly & Mark Wipf paired with Nicole Vickerman & Brad Duke. Our champions were Julie & Mark Hutchinson with partners Sondra & Jay McMindes; congratulations. Following the dinner was the annual chip-off. We had 20 ladies compete, and of course, the birthday girl, Christy Hubbard, came out on top with a wonderful shot. Brian Scott stuffed one in there early for the men, and the shot held up for the win. Congratulations to you two. The rest of you, there is room in my short game clinic :).

competition and a wonderful week. Thank you to all who played, and for those who missed it, I hope you will join us next year! The following day was the Junior Club Championship. We had seven competitors. Thank you for competing; Hallie Wheeler, Andrew Baum, Max Wheeler, Max Butler, Kaiden Rissell, Owen Seybold, and Jack Butler. Lots of great swings. Keep it up, and we will see you next year. Later this month, we have the Ladies Caddies & Cocktails tournament on Thursday, July 28th. I will report those results next month. Coming up August 3rd – 6th is the Men’s Invitational. We have a full field and expect a tremendous week and concert. If you have not already signed up for the Club Championship or the Couples Ryder Cup, please join us for those two tournaments. Please contact me or call The Golf Shop if you have any questions or comments. I look forward to seeing you soon. Respectfully,

Next up was the annual Ladies Member Guest. Again, the attendance record for the tournament with 36 teams competing. Congratulations to all that competed and to our Gross Champions Miki Edwards and her guest, See Laundry, with a score of 148, excellent. Our net champions were Julie Neustadt and her partner Trisha Sears, scoring 133. In the First Flight, the winners were Betsy Galtney and Glenda Phua, and the runner-ups were Sally Darmody and Christina Ilett. In the Second Flight, the winners were Julie Hutchinson and Brandi Porter, and the runnerups were Margaret Moss and Lou Russell.
