Director’s Note Dear Whitetail Club Members,

A lot of exciting improvements are in the works at Whitetail Club & Shore Lodge.

I want to put a few upcoming events on your radar this holiday season.

As referenced in the weekly eblasts, the indoor court will be closed for resurfacing until what we estimate will be November 8th. Once completed, and in addition to the standard tennis option, there now will be two full pickleball courts.

Thanksgiving Day, we’ll host our first ever 5k Whitetail Club Turkey Trot. This event is for the entire family, and the route will start and end at the Whitetail Club Park. Rain, shine, or (hopefully not) snow, we invite you to RSVP today! Then, the following Saturday (November 27th), we’ll host our Member Mixer at the Fish & Swim Club.

This improvement means that there will be the opportunity for two different pickleball games to be going on simultaneously. We are in the process of updating the court reservations platform (accessed via the Whitetail Club app), and we’ll be following up soon with additional communication and instruction as to how the court(s) will be reserved moving forward. At the same time as the court resurfacing, we’ll begin some well-needed improvements to its neighboring game room. The scope of the work will include new furniture, carpeting, paint, and wall art. The upgrades will take place in phases, and we anticipate the work being completed in full by early December. Also, starting in November, the Shore Lodge will be beginning a complete renovation of all its rooms. As you can imagine, this is a significant undertaking. Because of that, it will also be completed in phases, starting with the east wing then transitioning over to the west wing once completed. This renovation means that the hotel will be running with only 50% of its usual inventory. Because of this, I strongly recommend that if you anticipate needing any accommodations at the Shore Lodge between now and early Spring, that you contact the Club Concierge or lodge team directly for assistance today.

In December, we kick off the Christmas holiday with Breakfast with Santa, an Ugly Sweater-themed member mixer, Gingerbread House Decorating, a sledding party, Rally at the (improved) Rink, AND our New Year’s Eve celebration. This year our New Year’s Eve celebration will take you back to the ‘80s. Think Madonna, the Breakfast Club, leg warmers, aerobicizing, and boom boxes. A night not to be missed. Refer to your regularly scheduled communications for details, and when in doubt, reach out to the concierge team. To honor the true spirit of the season of giving, our team is spearheading a food drive for November. All proceeds will go to Heartland Hunger, our local food bank that provides weekly assistance to those in need in the McCall area. For November, there will be a box located at the clubhouse labeled with Heartland Hunger Food Drive to collect your donations. Thank you in advance for your generosity. And finally, we welcomed four new families to Whitetail Club this month. We look forward to seeing you around the club, Paul & Becky Rowan, Bo & Sophia Polny, Danny & Angela Marmillion, and Paul & Jennifer Dyck. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,

Though some minor upgrades will be done to a few public areas, including the Shore Lodge lobby, we don’t anticipate the hours of operation for The Cutwater on Payette Lake, The Narrows Steakhouse, The Bar, Mercantile, or The Cove will be affected. Stay tuned to your weekly and monthly communications, as we’ll look forward to bringing you updates as to how we’re progressing with these fantastic and exciting improvements. Pickleball Doubles

It’s the game that’s sweeping the courts of Whitetail Club, pickleball! We’ve taken notice, and beginning November 10th, the Indoor Tennis & Fitness Center will have a newly reconfigured space that will allow for the space to accommodate two pickleball courts when needed. Upon the completion of this reconfiguration, members will have the opportunity to play on one of the two courts and even play simultaneous to another match. This means more opportunity to play, have fun and stay fit this fall and winter. The drawing to the right shows how the two pickleball courts, shown in gray, would be set up over the existing tennis court. The court will have versatility as the nets will be moved to set up or break down the courts as needed. Once open the app will reflect two courts and reservations will be able to be made on either. It’s never too early to start enhancing your form, strategy, post-hit movements, defense techniques, and court awareness, ahead of our annual Pickleball Tournament that takes place every June.

ith snow already sprinkling McCall’s mountain ranges and temperatures dropping, Whitetail Club is warming up the fall and winter season with offerings that make each custom home of the Design-Build collection the ideal mountain retreat. Being in a location where all four seasons occur can serve as both the starting point and challenge of each design. This is a factor that both LEED accredited professionals Lisa Beck and Wayne Ruemmelle critically considered when designing Design-Build’s ‘Mountain Time.’ Expansion and thermal movements from snow, air, and water are all factors that can play havoc with materials. That’s why choosing a concrete exterior with natural stone and metal accents was the go-to choice for longevity and style. Beck and Ruemmele have also allocated a mudroom to hold sporting goods such as helmets and hiking boots. Of course, with Whitetail Club’s diverse amenities, including an award-winning golf course, indoor and outdoor tennis court, groomed hiking trails, and 17,000 Sq. Ft. clubhouse, you can’t make that room big enough.
