Director’s Note
Greetings Whitetail Club, This past month we held our annual ‘Years of Service’ recognition ceremony. Though the celebration was somewhat subdued compared to years past, it did not diminish the significance of the dedication or the hard work that this group of individuals displays day in and day out. Companywide, we recognized four team members for 10 years of service and ten others for 5 years. And though all deserve equal praise, I would like to highlight three that work tirelessly to provide the services that make the Whitetail Club experience what it is today. Congratulations and a heartfelt thank you to Eileen Dotson, Member Services Manager, Nick Korthals, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, and our 2020 Employee of the Year, Food & Beverage extraordinaire, Kim Willey. We welcomed Eryk & Margot Spytek and their family to the Club this past month. Thank you for choosing to make Whitetail Club apart of your lives. As I’m writing my letter to you, I’m receiving a Winter Storm Warning forecasted to be in effect for the next three days. What does this mean? Great conditions to be able to continue to maintain our winter amenities. Make sure to check out the conditions report on the Whitetail Club app before you head out. Nordic skis, both classic and skate, along with ice skates and show shoes are available for you to use on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please remember to sign out (and back in) equipment before and after each use. A friendly reminder that the equipment is intended for single-day use only.

Over the last 12 months, we’ve seen more growth in the Whitetail Club membership than any other year before. Because of this exciting momentum, we’re going to get a jump on the updates for our annual directory reprint. In the next few weeks, and as in years past, you’ll receive in the mail a copy of your existing directory listing along with a return addressed and stamped envelope. Please provide any revisions as instructed in the accompanying letter, and if you would like, provide an updated photo. We intend to have your 2021-2022 directories to you by the end of May. There are still a few spots available for our annual Underground Dinner event. For those who didn’t attend our inaugural event last year, this is an exclusive dinner event where this secretive event’s location and the menu will remain under wraps until you arrive. From the great melt to daylight savings, the spring season entails so much change for our mountain town. Though the weather may be unpredictable, some of the most beautiful days of the year are scattered in spring! Those who have experienced the season in McCall know that some of the best snowmobiling and snow biking conditions have yet to come – when the shifting seasons open up miles of backcountry inaccessible in previous months. McCall is completely renewed in the springtime, and whether you’re here to experience it or not, Whitetail Club has prepared a list for renewals all your own.

The end of winter is the perfect time to plan the coming spring. Need inspiration for your next adventure? Here are some seasonal activities Whitetail Club recommends!
1. GET SWINGING As an avid golfer, you know that thorough analysis is key to improving your game. Then you’ll move onto some easy climbing terrain so you can get comfortable, listen to pointers from your instructor, and learn to trust your grip. The rest of the time is spent climbing and practicing your newfound skills. Idaho is one of the Rockies’ great states, and the opportunities for natural adventure are endless – search for mountain climbing lessons in Idaho and take your outdoor experiences to the next level!

GO THE DISTANCE The revamped Fitness Center at Whitetail Club puts every member at an advantage – an exclusive place to work out with the latest and greatest fitness equipment is available to you daily. And with the addition of two Peloton bikes to our lineup of exercise gadgets, live and ondemand fitness classes are open to riders of every level at the touch of a button. You can search for virtual classes and filter by class type, length, music, intensity level, instructor, and more, allowing you to find the workout that fits you best! Welcome the spring season by breaking a sweat at Whitetail Club’s Fitness Center.
4. CLEAR YOUR MIND The closing of winter means lots of planning for the warmer days ahead. And though forecasting your future adventures is a must-do in the spring, this type of brainstorming can take a lot out of you. Be sure to take mindful moments to ensure your wellbeing is blooming throughout the season – how you ask? Whatever way you choose! Meditation and yoga are good places to start, but mindfulness can be as simple as reading a book. And if you’re looking for something more streamlined, apps like “Headspace” and “Calm” can be downloaded and accessed right on your phone so you can practice stillness with the touch of a button. 7

In this cooking demonstration, Chef Marcus will teach step-by-step recipes for three courses while you watch and sip on the perfect wine pairings with fellow foodie members. The class concludes with tastings of the dishes, detailed wine recommendations, and a “Julia Child” themed take-away Please note: This class has been modified to keep our members safe. Chef Marcus will do a cooking demo as members watch and ask questions from a safe distance. Attendees will not participate in hands-on food preparation.

The clubhouse will be hosting Complimentary Wine Tastings every last Saturday of the month through April. For our March tasting, we’ll be featuring wines by Mollydooker.
