Director’s Note Dear Whitetail Club Members,
Summer is here, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for what lies ahead in the coming months. Our golf programming is in full swing (wink wink), and Eugene and the team are looking forward to welcoming you back. Crew games, ladies clinics, couples golf, Jr’s, and more are back on the calendar and starting up this month. Circuit classes, Sunday yoga, kids tennis & swimming are scheduled to start in just a couple of weeks. Refer to your weekly eblasts and monthly newsletters for reminders on dates and times. We continue to see very strong momentum in our membership department. We welcomed 8 new families this past month. An enthusiastic thank you to Todd Cranney, Yanir & Erica Ram, Steve & Diane Norquist, Bader & Wendy Behbehani, Bill & Becky Ballantine, Billy & Elizabeth Seybold, Brad Schwartz & Lisa Schoelen, and Bob Barnes & Arie Walker for choosing Whitetail Club. New gate codes went into effect on May 1st. If you need a reminder of your new gate code, please reach out to either the Club Concierge team or Safety & Security. Our Club Concierge department will be staffed 7-days a week during the summer months. Danielle & Jack look forward to speaking with you. With our continued momentum in membership, we expect to see lots of exciting activity in all of our club outlets and facilities this season. A reminder to plan ahead when you can. Utilize the Whitetail app or the concierge department to ensure your time at Whitetail Club is seamless. The C-store and Boathouse are open for the season with modified hours for the first few weeks of June, moving to 7 days a week later in the month. Your weekly eblasts will include reminders of hours and days of operation. New to the team this year, we’ve partnered with two individuals experienced in singletrack trail maintenance. If you haven’t been on our trails system before, we encourage you to do so. Maps are available via the member portal, and we have copies available at the Fish & Swim Club. Don’t have a bike? THIS YEAR’S SUMMER CONCERT WILL BE LEGENDARY! This explosive tribute includes Queen’s most iconic rock anthems of all time paired with a theatrical performance by Marc Martel and his backing band. The show will feature a diverse lineup of the band’s greatest hits, from “Bohemian Rhapsody” to “We Will Rock You” to We Are The Champions,” this show will have Mercury die-hards and casual Queen appreciators alike reeling long after the lights go down.
THIS YEAR’S SUMMER CONCERT is guaranteed to blow your mind! The Ultimate Queen Celebration starring Marc Martel is coming to Whitetail Club on August 7th, and you’re invited to Get in the Groove to all of Queen’s classic hits! An established 13-year music career took Martel and his band throughout 49 American States, Europe, and even Northern Africa, which earned the singer worldwide acclaim. But in 2011, Marc Martel received an email from a friend in the music industry that would change the course of his career—the actual members of Queen were spearheading a contest, and auditions were open. The frontman had no intention of entering the contest. Still, after a push from friends and family, he casually recorded a cover of Queen’s hit song “Somebody to Love” and uploaded the video to YouTube. After over 30 million views and an appearance on “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” Marc’s sonic likeness to Freddie Mercury paid off—he won the contest by a landslide and fronted Roger Taylor’s Queen tribute tour. Though Marc Martel has earned comparisons to Queen’s frontman long before being handpicked by Queen’s living members, it wasn’t until the editing stage of Freddie Mercury’s biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” that his voice became a tool for something truly unimaginable. To create the hit movie, some scenes required a stunt vocal performer to create sounds that were never heard before. A professional sound-design team married bits and pieces of Mercury’s pre-recorded vocals with that of his vocal doppelgänger to paint a unique picture of the late singer’s life story. The film received 33 nominations and took home four Academy Awards, two Golden Globes, two BAFTAs, and five international awards. After leading Queen’s official tribute tour and playing an invisible but loud part in the highly acclaimed biopic, Martel is the ideal match for the Ultimate Queen Celebration!

Tee Time
Hello Members, What a fantastic season-opening we had, with the largest field for our Opening Tournament ever. I expect that we will have as many players this year as last year, which is exciting!! The long-range forecast is predicting stellar weather for June. I hope to see you up in McCall and playing a lot of golf. At the time of writing this, we already have 28 teams registered to play in the Ladies Member Guest and 41 teams in the Men’s Invitational. As a reminder, the field size is limited to the first 60 teams that sign up. At this pace, I expect this to be the first time the Men’s Invitational to be sold out. Thank you to all the teams in both events that have registered already—what a start. Last year, we organized an inaugural MemberMember Tournament for both ladies and men. True to form, this tournament featured two-person teams, and we named it the “Whitetail Cup.” This year, the Whitetail Cup kicks off the weekend of July 17th & 18th. Find a partner and sign up for this exciting tournament. If you have any questions, call the Golf Shop or follow up with me. I expect another great field this year.
In June, our weekly events start. Please check the Whitetail Club calendar for the Saturday Men’s Crew & Ladies’ Sandy Beaches, Sunday Couples Golf, and Ladies & Junior Clinics. We hope to see you again this year. Participation was terrific last year. Other than the Sabala Tournament on Saturday the 26th, we do not have any other tournaments scheduled. Please check the schedule for the days we have Lodge Group play. We always have a spot for you on the golf course. You may want to check with the Golf Shop on those days for a tee time to avoid any interaction with the group lodge play this month. As I already mentioned, I expect another busy, fun season. Although tee times are not required, please make your tee time in advance so we can have your clubs on a cart and ready for you when you arrive. As always, thank you.
