Dear Whitetail Members,
A huge round of applause for all our members that participated in the 5th annual Whitetail Club Pickleball tournament. The competition has never been so fierce! Though I’d consider all our members winners just for playing, there were only three spots on the Whitetail Club podium. Congratulations to Lori & Brian Donaldson for taking 1st place, Heather & Will Cox for 2nd and Ward Parkinson & Jeff Stoddard for 3rd. All couldn’t be more well-deserving of those pickles. A reminder to all our members that beginning this month and through the end of August The Cove spa will be reserving two treatment rooms Friday through Sunday, and one treatment room Monday through Thursday. These rooms will be held for Whitetail Club Member appointments only. The appointments will be held until 5pm the day prior to the service date to allow you to book your requested services with less lead time. At 5pm the prior day, the Cove team will begin to fill any openings with waitlist and walk-in requests. We still highly recommend booking your appointments in advance to avoid any frustrations, especially as our membership continues to grow.
The mid-mountain gate located on Osprey View Drive will be open for a trial period throughout the next 90 days. The gate was initially closed to mitigate trespassing concerns and deter unaccompanied individuals wanting to get a “behind-the-gate” look into Whitetail Club. We’ve implemented new protocols to address these concerns, including regular rounds by our Member Services team, round-the-clock security presence, and the additions of the gate kiosk and stop light which were installed at the Migratory Ridge access point. These combined measures will allow us to reopen the gate during this time. We’ll keep the membership posted on a long-term decision at the end of our trial period. There is still space available for our annual ATV Trip, Yurt Dinner, 9 & Dine, Caddies & Cocktails and the Kids Iron Man. The Shore Lodge Cottages are well on their way, and a few are nearing completion. As members and their guests begin to move in, it’s important to remember that there is still a considerable amount of construction going on in this neighborhood. For all members (especially our young ones), please practice caution when using the tunnels and paths that run through the Shore Lodge Cottages. Be mindful that traffic can be heavy coming in and out of the tunnels leading into the area.

Whitetail Club’s signature event of the summer returns with a sizzling summer concert, sensational golf tournament, and can’t-miss socials to celebrate everything that makes us, us. It all begins with the highly-anticipated Men’s Invitational — our annual men’s tournament played out over four days of golf, games and great times. Members are invited to build their teams of two and meet us on the links for some friendly competition (emphasis on the “competition” so be sure to bring your A-game). There will be plenty of action on and off the links, with a line-up of socials and activities beginning with the Dueling Pianos cocktail party at Golf Grille on Wednesday, July 31. On Thursday, August 1, ladies can join us for a very chic Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed lunch on the clubhouse lawn, followed by a Team Horserace events open to all players and their spouses. During game-play, we invite our non-competing members to explore all the exhilarating summer amenities that Whitetail Club has to offer. Kids can dive into summer fun at The Fish & Swim Club pool or our private Payette Lake beachfront, hang out at the clubhouse Kids Room (ages 4-9) or Teen Center, or embrace the summer at Whitetail Club Park. Our more adventurous families can find their thrills on our 10 miles of private mountain biking trails.
Thursday and Friday nights will be open evenings to mix and mingle with friends and fellow members over your favorite summer activities. We recommend dinner at the clubhouse restaurant, but be sure to make your reservations in advance, as it’s going to be a jam-packed weekend! The Men’s Invitational comes to an end on Saturday, August 3 with the final 9-hole match and championship shootout followed by an Awards Ceremony at The Fish & Swim Club - but the celebration will just be getting started! Join us Saturday night for a rock-blockin’ concert featuring one of the Top 10 Party Bands in the United States* Sting. Bono. Tom Jones. Rascal Flatts. Tim McGraw. When the best artists want the best musicians, they turn to The Downtown Band. That’s why we’re bringing them to McCall. After performing with top artists throughout the country, and taking their dance-driven act all over the world, they’re heading to Whitetail Club for one high-energy, hits-fueled night. It’s a celebration of summer and all of the elements that make Whitetail Club who we are - and it’s going to be a scorcher!

Tee time
We experienced a wonderful June of golf and terrific participation throughout the month. The weather was a bit spotty, but everyone who participated had a great time. The Ladies’, Men’s, and Junior Clinics are off to record participation. All the clinics are complimentary and taught by your professional golf staff. We’d love to have you join us if you can. Call the golf shop or my cell for more information. The Brian Scott Invitational on Thursday, June 20 was a great success raising money for the Idaho Youth Ranch. Brian, great job organizing this fantastic event for a terrific cause! Saturday Men’s Crew and Ladies’ Sandy Beaches were also busy. July will keep us busy, and hopefully, you will have the time to join us for all or some of the events and tournaments we have scheduled. We start July with the most popular: 9 & Dine on Saturday the 6th. We will tee off at 5pm and have dinner under the stars on the golf course. Participation in this event is usually very good and it can sell out. Please call the shop to sign up and reserve your spot. The following week is the Ladies Member Guest, Wednesday – Friday, 10am–12pm. As I write this column, we already have a record number of teams signed
up. There is still room for you to participate. Please sign up and join us for what promises to be a wonderful time. Saturday, July 13 is the Junior Club Championship. The number of holes each junior plays is dependent on their age and skill level. This championship is open to all juniors. Also, that day we will be hosting the annual Whitetail Club Demo Day! Representatives from Callaway, Titleist, Ping, TaylorMade, and Bridgestone will be on the range from 10am–3pm. Come try all the new clubs and test them against each other to see what magic clubs are out there to help you improve your game. Using swing analyzers, we will be able to custom fit you for whatever you need. The following weekend is the Club Championship. We will have the Championship Flight for both Men and Ladies, Senior, Super Senior, and a Net Division. Come play like the pros on TV and test your competitive skills against the field of entries. The ladies’ Caddies & Cocktails 12hole tournament will be played on Thursday, the 25th. Every four holes the format changes. Each team has a caddie/coach offering helpful tips and playing along to help your team win this prestigious honor. Teams of four or five players and guests are
allowed. This event has grown each year and has become very popular due to the fun everyone has. I look forward to your participation. Wednesday, July 31 through Saturday, August 3 is the Men’s Invitational. For those who have signed up thank you, and for any members that plan on playing, we still have spots available for this amazing tournament/event. Always fun and competitive, I hope you can join us. Please mark your calendars for the Golf and Wine trip to the Napa Valley. Two rounds of golf and the wine tasting venues are set. Join us on this spectacular getaway. The annual Whitetail Club ATV Camping Trip is back, and this year we’re building our base camp at the Big Creek Lodge. This historic Central Idaho lodge, located on the edge of the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, has been a point of sanctuary for traveling firefighters, sled dog mushers, pilots and outdoor enthusiasts for the past 75 years. In addition to the incredible views and wildlife sightings at Big Creek Lodge, eagle-eyed members might also spot a blast-from-the-past in the form of the lodge’s furnishings, which were previously housed at Shore Lodge. Big Creek Lodge offers several overnight options including traditional tent campsites equipped with running water; rooms at the lodge that accommodate three adults or two adults & two kids; and two rustic duplex cabin rooms that each accommodate two adults and feature a small loft area for one to two additional guests. Members can choose to have a tent pitched in the great outdoors or take a more “glamping” approach with the lodge’s other offerings. As always, our wonderful staff will form the first wave, heading out in advance to transport and set up camp before you arrive, so be sure to drop off clearly labeled tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and other personal belongings needed for camping at The Fish & Swim Club on or before Monday, July 15. Due to its remote location, Big Creek Lodge is only accessible by bush plane or arduous dirt road travel. Luckily, our convoy is ready to take on the ambitious trek in true Whitetail Club fashion. Our talented chef is joining us on the ride, providing delicious boxed lunches and snacks for the rides, along with lavish dinners at camp. You’ll also enjoy yard games, complimentary mountain bike rentals courtesy of Big Creek Lodge, a large communal campfire with nightly s’mores fixings, and our Big Creek Feats – fun, hour-long side adventures, such as catch-and-release trout fishing off the Big Creek. Our day adventures will include visits to The Werdenhoff Mine — a historic mine established in 1930 — and Pilot Peak Lookout which is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register and offers stunning 360⁰ views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

real estate Summer is here, and the action at Whitetail Club is booming. The Shore Lodge Cottages at Whitetail Club are almost done — and almost gone — with only three cottages remaining. If you’ve been considering purchasing a cottage of your own, or know someone who’s still on the fence, now’s the time to act. These rustically-modern residences with the ability to be entered into the Shore Lodge rental pool won’t last. The Fairways are now underway; we’ve broken ground on the first set of townhomes (33 & 34). The 34 transitional-styled townhomes located near our championship golf course are slated to be one of our most popular offerings.
