Dear Whitetail Club Members,
Don’t be fooled by the snow on the ground; Spring has sprung in McCall. The birds are chirping, the temperatures are warming, and our summer amenities should be open in 6 to 8 weeks, depending on mother nature.
We have an exciting new initiative we’ll be implementing this summer that I am thrilled to bring to your attention. In an effort to minimize our carbon footprint, we will no longer be offering single-use water bottles on the golf course. In their place, we will install refill stations at The Golf Shop and The Cart Barn. These will be in addition to the machines already in place at our comfort stations located on holes 4 and 14. We will also be eliminating singleuse plastic water bottles at the marina. Included with rentals moving forward, you’ll find 5-gallon water coolers that you can use to refill your personal water bottles while enjoying a day on the lake.
To help ease this transition, we will gift each membership two stainless steel, vacuuminsulated, double-walled water bottles. Stay tuned to future club communications as to where you’ll be able to pick these up. Should you want to purchase more, we’ll have additional for sale in both The Golf Shop and The Boathouse.
As referenced in previous club communications, The Cove is currently closed for maintenance and repair as well as for some exciting improvements, including new saunas in both the men’s and women’s locker rooms and additional treatment rooms. We’re tentatively scheduled to re-open the spa the week of April 17. We’ll communicate if we encounter any unanticipated hurdles that might push this date back.
All requested edits to your directory listing should be in by now for our annual reprint. As a reminder, we pull your data directly from the Member Portal. If you have not logged in recently to make any updates, please do so immediately; otherwise, what is listed is what will be printed. As in previous years, we aim to have the inserts mailed to you by Memorial Day weekend.
Many of you have already been in conversation with our new Head Golf Professional, Phil Goodson. Another opportunity to spend some time with Phil before the start of the golf season is at our annual Swing into Golf event, scheduled for May 5. This year, we have a slightly different spin on it, and to provide a more all-inclusive/social format, we’ll be heading to Top Golf –Boise. For details on how to participate, contact the Club Concierge team or Phil directly. I know he’ll look forward to the conversation. All skill levels are welcome.
Sincerely,
Jocelyn Kidd, CCM

Tee Time
My name is Phil Goodson, and I’m excited and honored to be welcomed to the Whitetail Club team as the new Head Golf Professional. With over fifteen years of experience in the private community and golf industry, I will oversee the club’s daily golf operations, programs, and tournaments.
As a fourth-generation Idahoan, I majored in political science at the University of Idaho. Shortly after, my grandfather encouraged me to attend the Professional Golfers Career College in Temecula, California, where I received a specialized degree in professional golf management. Today, I’m among the 10% of golf professionals worldwide who have received their Professional Golf Association (PGA) certification.
You can find me venturing into the backcountry with my wife and two children when I’m away from the fairways. From snowmobiling to skiing to fly fishing, you can find me enjoying the true wonders of the nature surrounding McCall, Idaho.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all. Here’s to a phenomenal golf season and many more to come!
Sincerely,
Phil Goodson Head Golf Professional

CLOSURES
The Cove will be closed for renovations until April 19, 2023. We thank you for your patience during this time, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon. The spring hours of operation at the spa will be reflected in the closure section of the weekly emails and Member Portal.
As you plan for summer, please note that Camp Sharlie will not be offered this year. Should you need child care throughout the summer, please contact the Club Concerige for possible solutions.
The submission window has closed, and on Friday, April 7, at 4pm we’ll be conducting a live drawing at the clubhouse to determine who will participate in this year’s tournament and who will be on the waitlist. For those that will be attending in person, light appetizers will be provided, and the bar will be open for drinks that’ll be billed to each individual member’s account. For members who wish to be a part of the drawing but won’t be on property that day, a Zoom link will be provided via email for you to tune in.
All names listed in the lottery list on the Member Portal will be pulled during the live drawing, signifying your placement in the tournament. Once we reach our field size maximum capacity, all names drawn after that will be added to our waitlist. If you’re still on the waitlist by the time of the tournament, you’ll automatically be granted participation in the 2024 Men’s Invitational if you choose to.
For those unable to attend in person or tune in using the Zoom link, we’ll send out an email confirmation to all members the week of April 10, confirming whether you will be or will not be playing in this year’s tournament. If you have any questions, please contact The Golf Shop at 208.630.0211 or golf@whitetailclub.com
Congratulations to Jake O’Neil and the College of Idaho men’s basketball team for winning the 2023 NAIA National Championship!
