Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese The end of summer swimming season and inevitable pool closings are always a sad time for kids and adults, but for local canines it means a chance to frolic freely in local community pools! Both Ephrata and Lititz community pools opened the gates for their end of season dog swim and pooches of all shapes and sizes hit the water. Shown at the top left is Bobby Longenecker hitting the slide with an enthusiastic Bhodi at Lititz. Shown at the top right, going clockwise: a dog seems to be hinting he wants his mommy, so back off dad; Jojo the Golden Retriever living up to his namesake; a dog owner tries to overcome his pets attempt to be an unmovable statue while a puzzled dog wonders what the problem is; a dog stands for reassurance that everything will be okay; Olivia and Twinkles, who was masquerading as a shark at Lititz; a cuddly little canine chills out along the pool edge; and finally, what’s a day at the pool without a little tension as this small-fry Yorkie lets a big guy know to watch his ankle!
