Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese National Night Out events were held this past week in several communities in the area. The program encourages families to get out of their homes and meet their neighbors with the goal of bringing the community closer. New Holland Boro Police joined the event for the first time this year and the activities were held in the community park with hundreds in attendance. Shown in the photos are Lancaster County Prison’s K-9 unit giving a live demonstration, Elanco Library’s book bike (which was available for selecting books), the fire company giving aerial rides, a children’s painting activity, as well as the perennial kids favorite of face painting. The evening was a huge success and thanks go out to everyone who planned such a wonderful evening. Lititz, East Cocalico, Manheim and numerous other Lancaster County communities also came together to celebrate this national event.
