Military Oral History Club

The Military Oral History Club of Lancaster County is hosting Thomas Taylor of Harrisburg on Tuesday, May 30. Don’t miss hearing his experiences during the war!

Thomas Taylor celebrated his 100th birthday last month, which was covered by many media networks including WGAL. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard on the Mediterranean Sea, first the highest levels of youth soccer throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. The State Cup champion advances to the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships. Regional champions advance to compete in the US Youth Soccer National Championships.

Reading Rage, a nonprofit, youth player development organization providing professional coaching soccer club, sees on the U.S.S. Landsdale prior to it being torpedoed by Germany and then on the U.S.S. Falgot. their girls 07 Press team advance to NCS State Cup Final. Student athletes from Governor Mifflin, Wilson, Hamburg, Berks Catholic, Reading, Ephrata, Tamaqua, and Northern Lehigh High Schools make up this talented team. Coach Eric Puls took his team and faced­off Keystone Athletica on Saturday, May 20 at 1:30 p.m., playing at the United Sports Complex in Downingtown.

The Military Oral History Club meets at the VFW Post 2435 (401 Manor Street, Columbia) on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. All World War II Veterans and anyone with an interest in WWII history are welcome to attend.
