Lions Club April Student Of The Month

The Ephrata Lions Club recently honored Mia Cerullo as their April Student of the Month. Mia is in the 11th grade at Ephrata High School. She is a member of the Leos Club serving as Treasurer, Vice President of the Student Council and the Spanish NHS, member of the NHS and Future Teachers Club. Mia also played on the EHS basketball and tennis teams. She volunteers with the Leos Club in various activities, Mini Mounts Girls Basketball Camp, Spring Musical usher, Fulton Elementary recess volunteer, Denver Elementary summer school assistant, and volunteering at the Bethany UCC Church.

Her future plans include attending college and majoring in both Elementary Education and Spanish. Mia reflects the Lions motto: “We Serve!”

After their entertainment Assistant Secretary Bonnie Fry read the minutes from the April 2023 meeting.

Debbie Moyer gave the treasurers report as of the end of April 2023.

Pat Bunting led the singing of five April birthdays and one April anniversary Dick and Theda Raffauf, 31 years.

The Gerhart’s reported receiving one get well card and two sympathy cards and asked members to notify them if they know of any members hospitalized or deceased.

The trip committee has three trips planned for 2023 first one to Totem Pole Playhouse to see “Million Dollar Quartet” on Thursday, August 10, with lunch at Hickory Bridge

Restaurant, the second one to the German fest at Silver Birches on Tuesday, October 17, and Hunterdon Hills Playhouse “Christmas at the Playhouse 2023” on November 16. Anyone interested in joining The Friendly Circle on any of these trips, please contact Linda at 717­733­4414 for more information.

The next board meeting will be held on, Wednesday, June 7 at 8:00 a.m. at New Cloister Restaurant in Ephrata. The regular club meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13 at Akron Community Church, 613 Main Street, Akron.
