FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6 The Annual Ephrata High School and the Rec Center Tidal Waves Bingo will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Ephrata Rec Center. Tickets available at the door until sold out. Extra specials, raffles and door prizes available. Bring a jar of peanut butter to benefit the Rec’s Power Pack Program and receive a raffle ticket.

The “Voice of Democracy” essay is a national Veterans of Foreign War sponsored contest. This year the Ephrata VFW #3376 had participants from Brownstown Career and Technology Center and Ephrata High School (grades nine to twelve are eligible). Local level winners from
Brownstown were Maikue Lor, Hayden Ali and Hope Beckary, and from Ephrata, Nicolas Stauffer. District 9, which includes Lancaster and Chester Counties, winners were Maikue Lor (first), Nicolas Stauffer (second), Hayden Ali (third) and Hope Beckary (fourth).

Ephrata High School Science Fair Preparations Underway
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7 The Bareville Fire Company, 211 East Main Street, Leola, will hold an All You Can Eat Breakfast from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. There is a cost.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 8 Akron Grace E.C. Church, 101 North 7th Street, Akron, will host their Annual Chili CookOff at 12:00 noon. There is a cost to register and to eat lunch. Proceeds benefit missions trip to Spain. For more information or to register, call 717-8592700.
